Everything Changed

Ok so my wedding was set for Oct. with my colors being burgundy and burnt orange. My future husband's job had recently told him that they needed him out of state during the time of our wedding. So we ended up canceling our wedding. After a few weeks of talking we decided to move the wedding up. So now our wedding is August 21. The other day the bridesmaids dresses came in, and they are more of a deep purple which is not at all what we thought we were ordering. So I am now needing help coming up with a color that would look best with a purplish wine color. The burnt orange does not really go with it. Would a fall theme still be ok since the leaves will not have changed yet, and the fact that it is still summer? I don't have time to reorder the dresses so we are kind of stuck with the burgundy color. I just don't know what would go best with the burgundy color? And what color should the mother of the bride/groom where? Please any advice would be great!!!!

Re: Everything Changed

  • Try like a Canary yellow maybe. Its hard to say without seeing the color but my friend had pruple and yellow for her colors and it looked fantastic
  • When we were trying to pick out colors, I went crazy looking at floral arrangements. This website has a ton, look through them and see what you like and don't like. You have the dresses so you can see if you can find something that looks similar.

When I was picking out colors, I leaned on these two sites. Just browse through there and see if anything catches your eye:

I linked the page names to the pages I'm talking about. Hopefully the links work. GL! :)

  • Dark purple would probably look good with gold or silver. Or you could go with a dark green (maybe a moss green?) or yellow like one of the girls suggested, it would probaly look more summery. Check out brides.com they have a color studio that can show you different color combinations, it might help you decide. I think it woud look really pretty with a cream and silver though, and they're not really seasonal colors so it wouldn't matter what the time of year was. Hope this helps!

  • If you need any ideas on how to use any of those color combinations feel free to message me. I absolutely love all of this wedding planning stuff, I've had so much fun planning my own wedding! Just try to look at this as a chance to really be creative and have some fun, and not just making the best out of a bad situation.
