Maybe found a suitable dress.

I'm looking at these two

1.

ordered in white.

2.

They're both in the price range and meet all my expectations. We're thinking of moving the wedding up to about 5 months from now, so I'm going to try to kick the planning into high gear. What do you ladies think?

I really like the first one!  I had a bad experienc with AA customer service a few months ago, though, so don't listen to me!

Hmm ... "suitable" doesn't sound like you're gaga over either of these dresses.  So, I wonder if you might need to find a couple that you really, really like before even trying to make a decision.  Good luck!

I like them both, but agree with Lisa.........doesn't sound like you are really inspired by either choice. I've seen adorable dresses on the David's Bridal sale tab, but of course you get what you get then have to have it altered if it doesn't fit.

Also, I just went to the bridal salon this past week to have my reception (fun) dress fitted and altered. There are tons of lovely bridesmaid dresses available that you can order in white or ivory, why not try going to a salon near you?

    Good luck.

I think once I see how they look on, then I'll be more inspired. It just seems kind of theoretical right now. I'm a tactile person, so if I can't touch it, it's not real. I'm going to call around and see if I can find a shop that carries those and try them on, and maybe a few more. Plus I think I'll feel more like a bride if I can try on a veil with or something.

Both of these seem too girly, but I see what you are going for. You want something fitted and simple in style. I recommend looking at the dresses on Bloomingdales, Dillards, Sears, Macy's, and the Lord and Taylor's websites. Dillards has a surprisingly nice selection for reasonable prices, and Lord and Taylor also has more affordable options than I expected. I think you'll be able to find something more sophisticated but with the look you are going for.
