ATTN: Excellence Honeymooners

I know I have asked questions about this place before, but I was wondering if some of you could tell me....

Is the extra price for the "excellence club" worth it?  The only thing that is really a big deal to me is the private pool... does it make a huge difference?

    My Fi and I are doing excellence club.  When we read through the reviews on trip advisor they really seemed to say it was worth it.  Not to mention we are staying at Mujeres in Mexico, at that particular resort I believe you have to do excellence club to get an ocean view room.  Plus you get the free spa treatment and the  private dinner on the beach one evening.   I haven't read anything about the private pool though.

    Hi, DH and I went to Excellence Riveria Maya and for us, the VIP club part was 10000% worth it. As aneres said, you cannot have an Ocean Front room without being a part of the club, and the private pool that was jsut for VIP club members was AWESOME. We had a swimp up suite, so our back door opened right up to the pool and we had our own lounge area, but even if you don't have on of the rooms on the first floor this pool was the most quiet, most romantic, and most pampering of all the pools. There are bartenders that come around and serve you drinks and they also brings snacks over throughout the day and at your request, they will order you lunch from some of the restaurants and bring it over to the pool, if you don't want to leave to go eat.

    Also, the VIP has a special club room where there is champagne and snacks all day, and they also have computers in there so you don't have to go to the main lobby to get on the internet if you need/want to. We never had to wait to use one, but when we stopped by the lobby computer room once, it was packed.

    If we ever go back, we'll ALWAYS do the VIP. HTH!

    Oh, they also bring you cold towels throughout the day and have a book hut for you to borrow books from if you want something to read.

    Pumpkinseed, was the swim up suite noisy at night?  I was nervous people would be in the pool late at night and be real loud.

    It was totally not noisy. The pools actually close after some point in the night. We talked about going swimming late night and wondered if anyone would stop us but we never got around to "testing the waters."

    As far as I know, no one was ever in the pool late at night, if they were, they were not disruptive.

    And remember, this is a couple only resort, so you don't really have any people that are loud/drunk/obnoxious at any point during your stay. One day, a wedding party had just arrived, and the private club pool was a little noiser than normal, but still NOTHING compared to the main pool with the swim up bar. And all the other days, it was so quiet and relaxing...most people are just laying/floating around with their SO.

    can you tell me about the dress code at Excellence? We are going for our honeymoon in March. We are super excited, but wondering if there are strict on what type of shoes you an wear...silly question :)
