The Butterfly House Caterers

Hi Brides!

I'm getting married at the butterfly house in September.  I'm having a difficult time deciding on my caterer, and could use some help.  I'd love to hear from anyone who has had their reception at the butterfly house.  I definitely need some imput about how the food was for particular caterers, decor, and most of all, how they were to work with.  I look forward from hearing from you!!!

My cousin got married there Sept. 2008.  They used Russo's- the food was amazing and they were very easy to work with- we would have used them if not for our venue mandating we use their service providers.  They served a dual entree of filet with hollandaise and chicken in a buerre blanc sauce.

As far as decor, they just used the standard- white tent, white chairs, white linens.  You could change any of that by spending extra $$- they didn't because they were buying a house at the same time.  Their centerpieces and table names were cool though- they had hydrangeas with silk butterflies in colored glass vases, and named their tables after kinds of butterflies and each table name and place card had pictures of the butterflies.

Hi - I got married at the Butterfly House in August 09. We used Russos for the caterer and they were wonderful. They had a fun event during the planning process, it was like going to a wedding where you can bring your mom/sister/fiance, etc. You got to taste a sampling of the food, cake and see the decorations. Plus it was FREE.

We worked with Liz and she was great. They were so detailed and setup/took down all of the decoration, centerpieces (even though we had our own), linens. I made a list for them and they did everything from there.

We had a seated dinner which was more expensive, but my dad insisted. They had the food out fast and it was delicious. We had a duel entree of steak and chicken with sides, salad and they did our cake. I can send you a picture if you want to see it.

I tried the other two caterers, for me Patty Longs was too expensive and Hendri's wasn't good about returning my calls - so Russos was a clear choice. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck! Cool
