Perm?

I've got straight hair  and growing tired of it.  I look a lot better with curly hair and my fiance says he liked the curly hair from back when I had a perm before.  It's about 79 days until our big day is it too close to the wedding day to get a perm?  Will it limit the hair styles I can choose from on my big day?  I haven't run through any hair trials yet, but I do know I want curly hair that day.  Some people tell me to wait until after the wedding and others tell me I look a lot better with curly hair.  One of my friends that I talked to tonight told me this (they were a licensed cosmotologist)

"A perm shouldnt limit you on hairstyles. It may make it easier for you to style. Permed hair will hold curls from an iron better than straight hair. With hair as long as yours a spiral perm or a body perm would be the best for you, that way you dont have kinky hair"

So should I go for it or wait?Undecided

Re: Perm?

  • If you want curly hair on your wedding day, can't you just have your stylist curl it that day? Or do you mean you want a more permanent way of having curly hair? I guess I wasn't aware people really got perms anymore. I'm not trying to be rude, but they just seem kind of dated to me.

  • People get perms still.  They just don't get the same kind of perms.

OP, I'd probably just have the stylist curl my hair that day because I'm chicken.  What if it comes out terrible?  I'd wait until after the wedding to take that risk.
