I am looking for ideas for a song for my fiance and I to dance to for our first dance. I want a modern song. I dont particularly care about which genre.
My fiance actually came up with the idea for ours. We are going with "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Calliat. The funny thing about that is my fiance is in a rock band and doesn't listen to that genre much at all, but he knew I really liked Colbie Calliat and he suggested that song before I had even heard of it! There are plenty of websites out there to search. I just tried Bing and searched for songs. I'm currently looking for an entrance song...any good ideas? We don't want anything too traditional because both of us are fun-spirited. We'd like the beginning of the night to be upbeat and set the tone.. GOOD LUCK!
We are using "You are the Best Thing" by Ray Lamontagne. He is kind a different, folky kind of singer....I love the sound of his voice and the song is upbeat (which allows us to do more than just sway back and forth...we like to dance!!).
I keep saying this, but I can't stress enough how Adele's "Love Song", originally sung by The Cure, is perfect for a wedding. Listen to it here: http://shrt.fm/eIycW2

Did you find the travis tritt version? I'd love to hear it - LOVE LOVE that song by Edwin Mccain, but don't want to use his version because my BFF used an Edwin McCain song and they just got divorced, plus my FI likes country a lot and this might be the perfect song for us!
