Workout Accountability: Friday!

Happy Friday to all!

I did my lifting routine for the lower body yesterday and got in a good workout on the elliptical.  My stress is turning into good workouts, so I guess that's kind of a good thing. 

I'm running 3-4 miles later.  Maybe I'll push myself to go further since it's so nice out, who knows. 

Oh this weekend. So much to do. FI graduates law school Sunday! And we have so much packing to do.  At least we finally started to organize ourselves last night.  Our apartment is so small, I'm not sure how we have so much stuff everywhere! I am making sure I get a nice long gym session on Saturday for my own mental health.

What's everybody else up to this weekend?

    Morning everyone.  Thank you so much for all of the T&P yesterday and today.  We're doing okay, and quickly moving into 'action' mode as family members are already trying to stake their claim.  The sad part is that, though she was my great aunt, the way the age differences worked out, her daughter is about my age (late 20s.)  That means she's single-handedly dealing with the money-grubbing family members, her mom's arrangements, and everything else.  My mom and brother are flying out this weekend to lay down the law and help take care of things, while FI and I are staying back to help keep an eye on my grandmother, who is also not in great health.

    Anywayyyyy....happy Friday!  FI and I took the dog for a short walk last night after messing with a new chocolate chip cookie recipe.  My bach party is this weekend, despite everything else going on, so I loaded the house with beer, pretzels and hummus, and fresh cookies to help FI enjoy his quiet weekend.
    I know I'll be drinking this weekend, so I'm really hoping to make some good dinner and snack choices.

    kpd--Happy Wedding Weekend!!!

    I got in a run on the treadmill last night.  I didn't do weights because I just couldn't get into it.  But I was happy I went to the gym.  And my eating was awesome yesterday, so hopefully the weekend will be as good!  I'm going to my cousin's prom grand march Saturday with my parents.  And Sunday is our last SCUBA class/pool dive.  Then in a couple weeks, we have the open water lake dives.  Yay!

  • Thanks girls!!! I'm leaving shortly and won't be back for two weeks!!! Good work with all the exercising! I know getting involved with this board has helped a ton to keep me calm and make me stick to my health plan. Thanks for all of the support and well wishes!!

    Lobsters, wow, sorry you and your family have to deal with all that.  Sometimes a death in the family can bring out some not-so-great qualities in other people, and I hate seeing that.  Hopefully your mom and brother can help your cousin sort some stuff out.  Enjoy your bach party this weekend! With all the crap you've had going on, you deserve to have some fun I think!

    KDP - HAPPY WEDDING WEEKEND!!!!

    It is FREEZING here this morning! It was very hard to get myself out the door. I tried an HIIT workout on the treadmill this morning per some of the suggestions I got on the Body Fat thread I posted a couple of days ago. I'm not sure if I did it right though? I went for 20 minutes plus a 5 minute cool down. I sprinted at my absolute fastest (which was only between an 8 - 8.4 on the treadmill) for 1 minute and then my recover was 1.5 minutes. I repeated that until 20 minutes was up. The reason I am not sure I did it right is because I walked during my recovery (4.4 on the treadmill) I was just so worn out after the sprints there was no way I could jog or run during the recovery periods. So if anyone has any insight on HIIT I would appreciate it :)

    Jude - Congrats to your FI and you this weekend! How exciting!

    Lobsters - I hope you have fun at your bach party! I know that may be tough given everything you have going on right now but I hope it's an awesome time!!!

  • Happy impending weekend ladies!

    I got to the gym last night even though I wasn't feeling very motivated. My activity level on my fitbit after work was sort of pathetic so it pushed me to make sure I got to the gym. I got 20 minutes of stairmaster, 25 minutes of elliptical and then I only got 10 minutes of weightlifting. By the time I got to weightlifting I had zero energy left. Saturday when I go back to the gym I'm going to do weights first so my muscles don't start to lose strength.

    Tonight will probably be some light cardio, we'll see.

  • Happy Friday!

    Yesterday morning I did the elliptical for about 40 minutes and, even though I am on there almost everyday, it felt different, like the resistance was on 11 and I was going really fast the whole time! Maybe that means I'm building something haha! We had someone look at our condo in the afternoon so I could not do much else. Today after work I am going to bike and walk for a good solid hour, the do weights.

    Tomorrow we are taking our engagement photos in downtown Boston, so that should be fun! The weather will be warm and the skys clear. Then we are going to dinner in the North End, our usual weekend date night :)

    Morning guys!

    Lobster-that effin' sucks! re the money grubbing issue-we went through something similar when my grandmother passed away,...bottom line, people suck.

    I did not go to the gym as planned last night....catching up on fringe epsiodes won but going tonight for one last workout before the long weekend.

    I hit the gym myself last night, and today was my weigh in day, down a total of 8lbs total. Not a lot but it's a start. Hoping for the motivation for another 22lbs before the big day. Hope to enjoy a few drinks tonight with a friend and dinner and drink tomorrow night with good friends I have not seen in a long time. So between tonight and tomorrow I have to hit the gym hard next week before I leave for FL. My FI is stil away protecting Mr. Obama so looking forward to him coming home Sunday night.

    Well my alarm didn't go off this morning and I realized that it was because I accidentally set it to 5:00PM instead of AM... doh. So my gym bag is packed and I'll head to the gym right after work to do an upper body circuit and run for as long as I can ... hopefully 30 minutes but with the running hiadis I took that may or may not happen.

  • Good morning ladies.  

    Today is bike to work day so I biked to work :)  I remembered to pump up my tires this morning, amazing how that makes the bike ride much easier.  Hopefully the hill going home will be easier. 

    This weekend I am doing a short hike on Saturday and resting on Sunday.

  • Happy Wedding KPD!!

    I did well yesterday....did a step/weights class at the gym, and then got in a short walk with FI after dinner.   Scale showed a 1.5 lb loss this morning, so I'm happy about that.  Officially into the 150's!

    Nervous about staying on track this weekend.  Busy busy busy, with not a lot of time for workouts.  But going BM dress shopping with six (!) of my bridesmaids tomorrow, so that should be fun.  Just hoping to make good food choices and be as active as possible.

  • I made it through another morning of 30ds. Yesterday evening I was able to get in a walk but it wasn't a speedy as I'd have liked... westies are very stubborn walkers! This weekend I'll be in VT visiting FFIL and FMIL so there will be lots of hiking.

  • Happy Friday ladies!!!! Kpd happy wedding weekend, so exciting!!!!! Judecongrats on fi's graduation LobstersI remember going through that when my grandma passed, hope your mom and bro can help..... TP still with u, try to enjoy your Bach party, you def deserve it. I did insanity again this morning, my 7 yr old DD got up and tried to do it with me I was cracking up!!!! I have my moh's daughters bday tomorrow, gonna really try to keep my eating under control, and meet with my photog on Sunday!!!!

  • Yesterday I ran to the gym (almost a mile) and did lower legs, abs, and tried the rowing machine for the first time, then ran home. 

    Today I don't have much time before dinner so I'm just going to run for 30 minutes. 

    Does anyone have a good website for workout suggestions?  I know there are a ton out there.
