Yikes!

Without much action on this board yesterday, I somehow found myself reading posts on the etiquette board. WOW! Those girls are crazzzzzzy. Of course some of the things people were asking about were quite obviously a bit rude but my goodness! If you ever want to be entertained, take a look through the board. So glad you girls are all so lovely and helpful!!!!

The national boards are quite entertaining! I read some of the posts here and there, but don't really feel inclined to respond. Usually someone says what I would have! I can't imagine having the drama that some of these people have..

That's exactly what I said a few months ago lol! But, after lurking over there a bit and responding once or twice, I don't seem to be the target of any shark attacks, yet lol. I find etiquette fascinating in general (I have 4 books on etiquette that I started buying when I was 19 *nerdalert*) and after I got over the complete shock of how abrasive the E-board is, I started actually learning something.

I also use it to my advantage. "Well, Lucas, if you want to invite A, B, and C, we have to invite all of their girlfriends. It's proper etiquette." "...oh, ok, well maybe just A then." = Keeps the guest list from running amok

I've never posted on that board, but read it all the time.  I think there's a polite way of answering, and an abrasive way of answering.  They really take it too far sometimes.  Yes, some questions asked are really jaw dropping, but you don't have to rip them to shreds for asking.

There are some posters who only want to read what they want to read though, and not the good, correct advice given.  Those posters drive me nuts, because if you ask a question, you should be open to all genuine responses.  Don't yell back at the etiquette girls when you're not doing things the right etiquette way lol.

I find that a lot of posters on those boards just want to be validated. When someone comes along and points out how they're wrong, they get all defensive. If you don't want to hear an answer, go ask your cat.
