T&P for Kitteh Binx

Hey ladies...in the waiting room at the animal hospital right now. I got home from work, and kitteh Binx had a bump the size the of a ping pong ball on his head behind his left ear. I dont know if he had another seizure and fell and got the bump, or if its some kind of quick-growing abscess. But T&Ps or vibes, whatever you believe in...please!

    Thank you for all the T&Ps ladies. We just got home from the animal hospital about 45 minutes ago. It turned out to be an abscess which needed to be drained. He now has a partially shaven head and a drain tube sticking out. I can barely look at him because it makes me want to simultaneously vomit and cry. I was doing well until I got him out of his crate and got a real good look. They gave us a flexible cone, which he hates. He actually growled at us before peeling it backwards. I don't know how I'm going to leave him alone to sleep or go to work. So I just started bawling like crazy. The vet gave me meds and instructions. I will have to take him back to have the drain tube removed on Friday. That's all for now...

    Well, we survived the first night. Because of his pain meds and cone, we decided to keep Binx in the spare room, which only has a closet full of my clothes, a dresser, and a few boxes. That way he wouldn't try the stairs and fall. We moved his litter box, food, and water into the room. My FI knew I couldn't bare to leave Binx in the room by himself all night (he's very needy), so he carried the long ottoman from our livingroom upstairs for me to sleep on. I'm only 5'0" so I fit pretty well haha! I assumed my FI was going to sleep in our room. But you know what he did? He put down some blankets on the hard tile floor (we don't have carpet) to sleep next to me! He's so good to me! Neither of us slept well, but we made it through the first night without any incidents. Cleaning the area and giving him his medicine with a syringe by mouth was difficult, but we got it done. Binx is not happy with us, but at least he'll be getting healthier!

    Glad to hear he's doing better!  And most importantly, I'm really happy to see how supportive your FI was.  Wow, sleeping on a hardwood floor to be near the cat?  I dare say you guys are going to be great parents one day, if you choose to have kids!

    I know it's hard giving him medicine like that, I hated having to do it for my cat! But it's going to get him better, and that's what's important! Glad you made it through the night, and WOW at what a sweet and thoughtful FI you have!!!

    Thank you everyone! Cali- I actually joked to him this morning that because Binx kept waking us up all night, it was like the first night bringing home a baby haha :)

    Smart move with the moving to the spare bedroom. I'm glad they were able to drain it and take care of it though. Thank goodness it wasn't something worse.
    Just keep binxy drugged up so you can do your daily stuff without worrying. :/
