BMs Dresses Still Not Here

I ordered all my BM dresses at the same time in March. 5 out of the 7 arrived in June. It's now mid July and the other 2 are outstanding. Would you expect a discount or some other compensation for the delay? Or is this reasonable?

Have you asked them the reason for the delay?

What was the original date you were given for delivery when you ordered?

I ordered them from LuLu's. I've asked and they haven't given me a reason why just standard "oh it varies" (which maybe I shouldn't have been fine with initially but I didn't want to get immediately upset). I was told they would arrive mid June, which is when the 5 arrived. I asked about the other 2 that day they told me 2 weeks and when that 2 weeks was up I called again to them telling me another 2 weeks.

I would call them if they don't come in after the next two weeks. If they say "two more weeks", I would tell them "No, it was two weeks a month ago" and ask for an explanation of why these dresses aren't in and where they are at. <div>When is your wedding, Btw?</div><div>

The reason I mentioned a discounts is strictly cause im annoyed lol I'm pretty understanding but it doesn't make sense why 2 would not be here yet. I will definitely ask more detailed questions the next time I talk to them. We're getting married sept. 21st i think we've got enough time as long as they don't need alterations. Not sure how long it takes for a BM dress

For alterations, I think Becky did alterations in a little less than a month for two of my BMs, one of whom was pregnant and still growing.

Good to know! One BM isnt in the state but hopefully this is a reasonable turnaround time for most seamstresses.

That's weird that they didn't all come in together. That being said, I think you will stil have plenty of time to get them altered if you need to. I didn't get my wedding dress altered until about 2-3 weeks before the wedding and had no problems at all. I wouldn't expect any compensation. I know you are annoyed, and I would be too, but I doubt they will give you a discount for this. :-/ I would just stay on top of them about it until August 1 and then at that point I would probably start saying stuff like, "Listen, I've been really patient throughout the multiple delays on these dresses but my wedding next month and I need a honest answer from you all NOW. Where are the dresses and what are we going to do to get them here this week?"

I called and both came in yesterday! One has already been shipped and the other is ready to be picked up! I'm so thankful I can mark this off my list.

If the 2 dresses have already been delayed by a month, you need to talk to a manager if you haven't escalated it to one already. Advise that you need an accurate date to expect the dresses. For them to just throw out 'two weeks' and not really know makes zero sense.
You will have plenty of time to have the dresses altered if need be, even if you don't get the dresses until a month before. I didn't have my wedding dress altered until the week before my wedding and everything was just fine. Some seamstresses can MAKE a dress with a month's time. I would recommend that if any of your BM's think that they will most likely need alterations to go ahead and schedule an appointment for early September just in case. That way, if they need alterations they won't have to search far and wide for someone who has availability.

Both dresses came in yesterday. And they've already shipped one. Still no explanation what took so long but oh well. The dresses are here and I can stop being annoyed by this!
