Hello Ladies!

I just wanted to pop over here to say hello and finally introduce myself. My name is Faith and on 12/22/12 I'm marrying my best friend Max!! FI has been a Christian for a long long time now and I was raised Catholic (don't practice anymore) and am a rather "new Christian".

We have been together for 5 years and can't wait to be married! I'm graduating with my BA in Secondary Social Studies Education in December of 2012 and FI graduated in '10 with a degree in Political Science. He is going to become a teacher too.

We are getting married at our local zoo (can't go the Church route-- too much drama with Catholic vs. Christian churches and my mother.. don't ask!) and are a fun, happy couple. The zoo fits us perfectly!!

I can't wait to chat with you all, read your wedding plans and share our faith!

    Welcome!  And it is bound to come up so I'll just say it.  Catholics are Christians (they believe in Christ) but I think you might be saying that you were not Protestant??  There are big differences with respect to weddings in a Catholic church vs. a Protestant church.

    I hope we can be of some help to you in your planning process and maybe just with general encouragement.

    Oh, of course! Thanks for the correction!

    What I meant is that the Catholic Church/traditions and Protestant Churches/traditions are like two different worlds!

    Welcome! I recognize you from the student boards. *waves*

    About the whole "Catholics are Christians" thing...I've heard it said that while it's very possible for Catholics to accept Christ, it's harder because open invitations of the gospel are not given. True or not true?
