Feedback on the Rockleigh Country Club?

I've been a member of the Knot for a while, but haven't really posted anything yet, so here goes! My fiance and I are getting married at the Rockleigh next July. We booked it back in February, and then went for a second visit yesterday to see the grounds at this time of year. The room that we're having our reception in (the Bristol Room) looked different (not in a good way) then when we saw it in February, but we couldn't quite figure out what it was. Anyway, I'm getting a little nervous if we picked the right place. Has anyone else booked there, or been to a wedding there? I need some reassurance :) Thanks!!

I have been to two weddings there and they were two of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to!  I went first in 1998 and the last time in November.  I remember it being beautiful the first time I was there but was totally blown away in November.  Everything was beyond gorgeous, food was excellent and service top notch.  The wedding was during the evening and the room was beautiful all lit up!
I still to this day (actually about an hour ago) talk about the Rockleigh!  It is so fabulous-you made the best choice!
When you saw it in Feb, was it dark out, were there people there?  Time of day/season might have had an effect on how you viewed the room yesterday.
Hope this offers you a bit of reassurance! :)

Hello! I had my wedding there in the Bristol Room September 09...I cannot believe it's been almost 1 yr.

We could NOT have been happier with the Rockleigh. I am so happy we booked there...SO SO HAPPY. We looked at about 15 or so venues, originally booked at the Westmount, and ended up at the RCC. The food was beyond abundant and delicious. Many of my guests were restaurant owners and in the food industry and their feedback was that the food was not your typical catering hall tasting/style food. Everyone was beyond impressed. Our room was GORGEOUS...we used their lighting. Service was great (from what I was told) at the reception. I worked with Bari Greene. Oh and I LOVED our Maitre'd,Jaime...she was fantastic.

If you have any specific questions ledt me know.

Rosie, I don't think I knew that you booked at WCC and then switched!  Out of curiosity, why did you do so?

UEG- Hi! Yes, we were booked at the WCC initially but had an issue with our date Although I do LOVE  the WCC, I was having second thoughts on the layout of the main ballroom. We also realized that for a few dollars more we could get more at RCC. I also loved the RCC grounds, the room, my BM, and the fact that it wasn't as popular venue choice as some others in our area/cirlce. Also, even though there are 2 ballrooms chances are you will NOT run into the other party bc there are 2 entrances. It is like 2 seperate buildings connected by the kitchen (I think?).

Anywho, I am so happy that it worked out the way it did for us...haha.

I would love some feedback on the Rockleigh - any pics/videos???  We are getting married there next September - and right now we're trying to narrow down our florist - who did you girls use?

    Congratulations to you!

I think it's best to get feedback from a guest.  I've heard good things about it, however my coworker was there about 2 weeks ago for a sunday wedding.  When I commented on it, "oh wow that's supposed to be a really nice place."  Her response was " I really wasn't impressed."

I will try and get more details, but she said she was a room with a lot of chandeliers.

I suggest going on a tasting and talking through all the details of the day with them including service, how many servers per table, bartenders, etc.  The tips they expect are high, so make them work for it.

    Hi all!

We will be having all Manzanita trees as our centerpieces in the ballroom - they will have white and ivory hydrangeas, orchids, dendrobium leis, hanging candles, and hanging crystals.  We were originally going to do a much bigger, more intense Manzanita for our Escort Card table, but I am thinking now it is too similar to the ballroom centerpieces and will ruin the big surprise for the ballroom space.  Do you have any suggestions/pictures for the Escort Card Table?  Would Manzanita be too similar afor that as well?

Our colors are Black and White (our floral design is all white and ivory flowers)

    Thanks!!! :)
