Hostess Gifts...???

I have shower #2 coming up this weekend, thank goodness something wedding related is finally LOCAL is all I keep thinking!!! My 2 FSIL's are hosting it... they are not part of the bridal party... so I do want to get them both something little to thank them for hosting a shower for me... Any suggestions???

A typical hostess gift is a bottle of wine or champagne if that would suit them. It's usually something relatively small though, so even baking cookies for each of them and giving them in a nice foodstorage container would be appropriate. Just make sure to wrap it nicely to indicate that its for them for later, not for the party (unless they really want to share!)

I put together small gift baskets for my 4 aunts that have things like bath bubbles, a loofah, designer soap and some truffles, and they say "for your next shower".

I ended up stressing over this- and I just got everyone some french macaroons that i packed nicely in gold gift boxes and handd out. All in all they cost me around $7 pp but i had TEN people to buy for!!
Also, perhaps something they can plant at home like a small rose bush would be cute, or send them flowers, or a gift certificate to their fav nail place or coffeehouse

As a gift for my sister, who hosted my shower this past weekend, I gave some bath and body works goodies in her favorite sent and a bottle of wine.

For each of my shower hostesses, I bought a couple blooms of a pretty flower (I think the first shower I did gerber daisies, the second were some sort of spider mums) and repotted them in a pretty painted terra cotta pot. Cheap - $10-15 a piece - and super easy, I even did the potting for the second shower in the Meijer parking lot on the way to the shower!

I tend to go with really nice chocolate. Like Godiva, or even a boutique confectionary. The kind of thing that you would never buy for yourself, but you wish somebody would buy for you.

My FMIL and FSIL's hostessed a shower for me, and since I know all 3 of them go out to eat together a lot, I got them a combined gift card to their favorite restaurant!

My sister and aunt both hostessed my second shower, and I got them gift cards to stores they like.

I probably sound like a gift card freak but these girls are hard to shop for!!

My sister and best friend hosted my shower this past weekend. I wrote each a nice card about how much it meant to me and gave them each a small necklace and a bottle of wine. They LOVED their necklaces and of course most people like a bottle of wine

I probably over spent but they gave me such a lovely shower that I really don't care!

My first shower was Sunday and I sent flowers to my sister-in-law's work. They are arriving today. I think she'll appreciate having flowers at her desk for a few days.

I bought my hostesses each a little loofa and a body scrub and wrote them all a personal card.

Thanks everyone... I just purchased them each a Tervis Tumbler with a lid, one FSIL got an Ohio State cup, the other an "Eat Drink and Be Merry" one. I hope they like it...
