Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

Live bands?? More bands or more time??

We are getting married at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.  We are having our ceremony (where my bride is to walk down the aisle to a string quartet with timpani drums playing "Beside You" by Marianas Trench).

Following the ceremony we will have our cocktail hour where there will be the string quartet again playing background music.

The reception will follow and then the main "entertainment" event will be the post-reception lounge.

We are planning on having 3-4 headlining Canadian bands as our entertainment.  My concern is would it be better to get two and have them play longer or to have the 4 and have them play 30 min sets?

[QUOTE]Sounds cool - I love a wedding day full of music! Out of curiosity, who are the Canadian bands? Do they play different types of music?  If they're all sort of the same, I'd say 2 are probably enough - when one goes on a break you can have the other play. If they're very different and you really want to hear all their different types I'd say to get all of them to come. Are you going to fly all the bands to Vegas for your wedding?
