Makeup foundation

Hey ladies, I'm just so sick of brown collars on my shirts because of my foundation. Do you have any recommendations on a smudge-proof foundation? I want to start practicing my bridal look for the big day.

Re: Makeup foundation

  • I like Bare Escentuals but I heard it doesn't photograph well so I'm not using it for my wedding pics, but I do love it for everyday use. I never have makeup on my shirts.

  • Urban Decay has a setting spray (two actually) thatwill help with that. Model in a Bottle will work too. They are basically a sealer. Depending on how much you apply, (and if you apply a lot,) it could give a shiney/slightly plastic-y look but touch of powder eliminates that. I use it before applying makeup but that's not necessary. Apply all of your makeup, spray, let dry, then just a light dusting of powder.
  • Definitely use a foundation primer. I use primer under my mineral powder (which I won't be using for my wedding day, but I did use for my engagement pics and it pictured great). I also use primer under liquid foundation, which tends to rub off easier. I never have an issue with tan collars.
  • Use primer and setting spray. I had this problem, but I figured out that I used too much liquid foundation. Try cutting back the amount you use and see if it helps. It worked for me! I use about a half pump (hopefully that makes sense lol) on my whole face.

  • Guess I'll invest in some setting spray.  I already use primer and setting powder.  I'll also see if using less foundation works.  Thanks ladies!  We'll see how it goes.
  • I swear by Estee Lauder foundation and of course, the primer beforehand.

A good setting spray is Model in a Bottle

  • I love Revlon ColorStay. I wore it for my wedding and it was awesome! I used a primer, foundation, consealor, finishing powder, and setting spray. I use ColorStay for my every day makeup without all that other stuff and it is still fantastic.
