Displaying food choice on escort card??

My guests will be choosing from chicken, beef, or fish when sending their RSVP cards in. How do I designate on their escort card at the reception which entree they've chosen, for the waiters and waitresses to know?? I don't want it to look sloppy with different colors/stickers/etc. Ideas?

How are you doing your escort cards?

You could always mount them on different colored cardstock so then the font colors are the same but the background color is different.

I worked at a hall for a few years, and people usually put stickers on the back of the cards. Sometimes it was hard to see as a server so we would have to ask all of the guests to show them to us so we could take a count.

I like Liz's color idea. Another idea is a different shape per meal. Like star in the corner gets beef, diamond gets chicken etc...?

Great ideas listed above, either different colors or shapes. We are putting a couple pearl embellishments on the escort cards and those will be different colors, either red, silver, black or ivory. That way they will all coordinate, but servers cn still figure out who ordered what. We are also giving the hall a list for every table stating how many of each entree will be going there. That way they can prepare trays properly.
