Tipping your vendors?

My dj is the owner so don't plan on tipping him but maybe his assistance. What about video and photographer? What did you tip. I'm a broke bride but need to tip and not be to stingy. Thanks

We are not tipping our vendors.  Most, if not all, of our vendors own their company.

The only one that we are doing something more for is the wedding coordinator at the hotel.  He has really gone above and beyond already so we are going to get him a gift.

What is the etiquette for tipping, because I need to start budgeting that into my expenses.

My wedding planner gave me her "Tipping Guidelines" sheet that we used for our wedding this past June. I'd be happy to pass it along, just send me a PM.  It's very helpful and informative.

We tipped all of our vendors regardless of whether or not they owned their own businesses. A tip is a gesture of appreciation for a job well done.  The wedding you planned is only possible because of your vendors. Now that I've been through the entire process, there really are no words to describe the gratitude you will have for your vendors when you have had the best day of your life.  Thank them for that.  Good luck!

This could not have been worded any better, thanks momo! --- we also tipped all of our vendors, regardless if they owned the company or not, out of appreciation for their work or services. Most of our vendors were company owners and we didn't even think twice about that, it may be against etiquette but it was greatly appreciated by all of them.

You do not HAVE to tip anyone....regardless if they own their own business or not (I always tohught that rule was silly)...tip a vendor AFTER the wedding if you think they did an exceptional job, regardless of owning their own business or not.
