Bridals by Lori vs. Bride Beautiful-one bride's experience.

Okay I hate to write a negative post, but I feel I have to post one of the worst experiences I have ever had yesterday. Let me start of with saying before the worst experience, I had one of the best. Bridal Gown Shopping.
OKay, so we start the day off at Bridals by Lori. Yes very pricey, but if you haven't been go just for the experience. You are treated like a complete princess. You are greeted at the door taken up an elevator with no wait, The lady assigned to you helps you into every dress gives you positive critiques, and makes sure he is looking for what YOU want and not what she thinks will look good. You get to parade around in the showroom and your out of town bridesmaids, parents etc. can see you through the webcam provided if you choose. Everything was sooo calm and serene, and it allowed me to be able to really enjoy the experience of being ohhhed and ahhed over. A must do for every stressed bride. They wanted to hear all about the wedding, and specifically the venue and feel. Now for the worst experience.
Bride Beautiful. I was excited for this app bec I felt like they were a little more affordable. We walk in for our 3 oclock app. The place is packed with people . We were never acknowledged, and then at about 330, finally taken back. I was told we could only try on 5 dresses. Okay, Bridals by Lori was unlimited as long as you got it done in your appointment time. So becuase I didn't feel really comfortable parading around in front of 30-40 waiting customers half naked I had my sister come with me in the dressing room. If I quickly knew I dint like the dress, I informed the lady before lacing it up so as not to waste time and concentrate on finding one I liked. Well that angered her and she scolded me for not giving it a chance. In addition, when we could not find her to help us lace the dress my sister began to help. Well when she came in and realized my sister had helped, she became very upset and slammed the door. My sister and I at that point realized something might be wrong and we could't understand why we upset her. So I flagged her down to help us ttie the bow, and when she came over her exact words to my sister were " Oh what you can't help her now" WE BOTH WERE AGHAST. So we asked to speak to the manager, who basically said she was sorry we were treated that way, but that as far as customer service she does 1400 weddings a year, and she doesn't give too much stock to one dissatisfied customer.
I am soooo glad I was able to get that special experience from Bridals by Lori because had Bride Beautiul been my only experience it really would have ruined that special time for me and my bridesmaids. It was overcrowded, the people that worked there looked and acted unprofessional, and it was chaos everywhere you looked. Just wanted to forewarn you guys and vent hehe.

I didn't make it to Bride Beautiful, but I had a not-as-pleasant experience with Bridals by Lori. They didn't give me much attention, maybe since I didn't have my mom with me. I knew what I was looking for, so they didn't have much chance to "sell" me on anything. It was a crowded Saturday, and I felt like every time I took off a dress, another bride to be had it on...I just don't want to see another bride wearing even "maybe" my dress...you know?

The associate who helped me DID find the perfect dress for me (which I ended up finding elsewhere for a LOT cheaper and purchased). I went back during a weekday and it was much calmer. I was the only one there, and the webcam was great for my out of town mom. They have a great selection, but I felt like they were a little snobby for my taste.

Ive only been dress shopping once and I went to Bride Beautiful. My experience was completely different from yours. Did you happen to go on a weekend? Obviously your experience is based on the day that you go. I went in on a Monday right when they opened and was the only bride in the store. I tried on about 15 dresses in my one hour appointment.... no limit for trying on dresses was ever discussed.  If I knew I didn't like the dress, before it was zipped, laced, or buttoned up, I took it off - and I was never "looked down upon" for doing so. My Mother wasn't even with me, only my MOH and wasn't treated different for that either.  I didn't buy my dress that day, but already made a second appointment for Bride Beautiful and I am going to bring my mother with me that day.

Obviously Bridals by Lori is going to be a different experience.  When the store's cheapest dress is $3,000 you're going to get the "VIP" treatment. Plus, no matter where you go on a weekend you are going to have a different experience than on a weekday.

On a scale of 1 to 10, my Bride Beautiful experience was about a 6 or 7. It wasn't necessarily "bad," but it was crowded. My consultant was very sweet and patient but it was a very busy day. I went in on a Saturday with no appointment and was still paired with someone who was available. I, too, was limited to 5 dresses. I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience. No one should have to deal with that and then have their concerns totally dismissed as if it doesn't really matter.

At Bridals by Lori, my consultant was extremely helpful and eventually warmed up as the appointment went on. She had just had eye surgery so I think that's why she was a little  agitated. She had some mild discomfort but was still a real trooper. She did bring in dresses she thought I might like but didn't bother me to try them on. She let me hold them up in front of me to make a decision about whether or not I wanted to try them on or not. I was told to pick out 7 dresses but I only found 4 I really wanted to try. In the end, I tried on about 10. Overall...Great experience!

3000..wow..i found one for 1800! There is a room for cheaper dresses. I am glad your experience was better than mine. I have done a lot of research on them since then and 9/10 times on the internet, I found they got bad reviews based on after the dress was bought. One girl that was there when we first got there was telling us that she wishes she would never had bought her dress there based on the customer service she had gotten since buying her dress and now was stuck with untangling some confusion. But, I just figured Id give it a shot. Ultimately your experience will be determined by who is assisting you and I think we got the bad seed. Haha

I agree with the ladies that say "it all depends on when you go" because I was very "anti-Davids Bridal" and heard nothing but negative reviews about there always being too many brides at one time, etc.  Well, my aunt insisted I go and at least "try" it.  I went on a Tuesday night and there was only one other bride in the store (this is the store in Kennesaw btw) and man, I felt like I had the place all to myself!  All the staff was there to give me ideas and they were extremely helpful!!!!  On that note, this is really the only location i recommend, I've been to 2 others and they weren't half as helpful or as kind.

My advice is, no matter where you want to go, make an appointment on an off day or time, that way you DO feel like the special bride you are and the salespeople don't have to run around helping 8 other brides and you won't feel shoved to the side.

I second that. I loved Davis bridal too!!!!!! I was very surprised at the fab service considering the reviews. On another note does anyone have any exp. with The White Dress in Rome

I agree about the day you go shopping. I went to David's Bridal, Etain, and New Natalie's during the week. I went to Bride Beautiful on the weekend, and although my experience wasn't as terrible as yours, it was nothing compared to the service I got at the other locations. I felt rushed and a little unappreciated. My salesperson asked more questions about my finances than about my wedding plans. I didn't like that at all.

I bought my dress at Priscilla of Boston... The best experience I have EVER had when shopping for any type of clothing. I also went to Bridals by Lori... I had an Ok experience, but definitely not as good as yours,Tchlsu. I'm sorry you had a bad experience at Bride Beautiful. I do agree to an extent that depending on the day you go, service may be better or worse. I say to an extent because I have been to Priscilla  multiple times now for fittings, ordering the gown, accesories, etc. and all different days. I have never had a less than stellar experience with them. I always have the undivided attention of a consultant and the manager knows me by name and greets me everytime I come in!

I personally, along with all of my bridesmaids, had a horrific experience at Bride Beautiful. They were rude and the bridesmaid dresses showed up with crooked seams/zippers and they were extremely wrinkled. It was like pulling teeth to get them to fix the seams/zippers of the dresses and they charge you $20 to have them steamed, which to  me is poor customer service. They continued to tell my bridesmaids the dresses were fixed and ready for pick up when they weren't and they made multiple trips to the store and were inconvenienced. They made it a very unenjoyable experience.
