Self Discipline is HARD! Ramble with survey.

Everyone keeps buzzing about the Sephora F&F sale.  And you can bet your bottom that I have a wish list that's several hundred dollars long.

I keep going to Sephora.com, loading a basket, and then telling myself, "Even with the 20% off, this stuff isn't cheap and you're unemployed."  Then I grudgingly unload my basket.

I'm proud of myself for being responsible...but I wish I wasn't so broke.

Oh well, I've promised myself that when I get a job, if the sale is still going on, I'll treat myself to a purchase or two.

*Insert sigh and daydreams.*

Ok, you know what...I'm going to try to make this a positive.  Ladies, if you had an unlimited budget, list EVERYTHING you would buy from the Sephora F&F Sale!

Annddddd GO!

I'd buy whatever you tell me to buy. I'm not too savvy when it comes to makeup. I need to find an every day foundation that just evens out my skin and covers little blemishes. I can work my mascara and eyeliner, but need a decent eyeshadow.

ok, my post is officially a #FAIL. But if we were talking about Nordstrom's, I'd load up on shoes, boots, some more shoes, and maybe a couple dresses :)

I really want Bare Minerals stuff. I don't even know where to start with it, though, or I would have bought it already. I have every intention of getting something with this Sephora sale, but I'm nervous about picking out the right tone online :/

    I'll start!  Here's my list!

    1)  NARS The Multiple in Orgasm & Copacabana
    2)  NARS Lipgloss in Striptease, Turkish Delight, and Greek Holiday
    3)  NARS Bronzer in Laguina
    4)  Diorshow Lash Primer
    5)  LORAC gloss in Haute
    6)  MUFE HD foundation in 140
    7)  Korres Blockbuster lip balm set
    8)  Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners in Gunmetal and Yeyo
    9)  Urban Decay shadow in Gunmetal
    10)  Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Bisque
    11)  Laura Mercier baked eyeshadows in every color
    12)  Laura Mercier caviar eyesticks in every color
    13)  YSL Lipsticks in every color

And if I were super rich, I'd march myself into Bergdorf's and get a tube of Cle du peau concealer.  I've never tried it, but I think it may be the only cure for my dark circles.  It retails for over $70 a tube!

Oh lets think- Tons of stuff by NARS, every shade of Stila lip gloss, Dior foundation, Dior pure poison perfume, Dior addict shine perfume, bunches and bunches of eye shadow kits, really good mascara, and I'm sure tons of other stuff too :)

I ordered the jumbo bottles of Bumble & Bumble Shampoo & Conditioner, YSL Touche Eclat, & DiorShow Mascara.  I forgot to get my Nars bronzer (LOVE Laguna btw!) but I can't justify paying the shipping for just 1 thing so I'm holding off.  The only other thing I wish I could afford to get right now is my Chanel Chance perfume.  I'm just about out of it but I think it's cost like $90 which isn't happening!

Basically all of the UD primers, Dior mascaras and liners, Nars blush and bronzer in laguna and orgasm. A life time supply of Bare Minerals tinted mineral veil, their matte golden tan powder, more blush colors and their radiance highlighter.  Then just tons and tons of lip colors and eye colors. And every type of brush they sell.

I love makeup and do it for fashion shows, special events and what not for friends and friends of friends. So I'd like to finally be fully stocked for any occasion!

ETA: I wear Versace Signature Scent and it is nearly impossible to find anywhere near the City of St. Louis, so I would order a sh!t ton and stock up! :)

<div>The Sephora I went to actually was able to help me pick it out and apply it as a trial and for me , Bare Minerals is the only makeup that I can even find a shade match. You can't go wrong with it really - maybe shoes can help more with this than me though lol. I for one love Bare Minerals but know it dosen't work for everyone.</div>

I actually need to return some stuff to Sephora.  Unfortunately, I just bought a bunch of stuff from there, not knowing about the upcoming sale.

But, to participate, this is what I bought:

    in Silver Green

    Laura Mercier Mineral Powder

Laura Mercier Mineral Primer (never had used this stuff before and LOVE it!)

    Sephora Blush

Sephora Mineral Powder Brush - LOOOOOVE it!!  So soft and provides great coverage!

These are the things I am returning:

My Maybelline works better and is $10 cheaper...

    Made me break out.

I totally want this, but do NOT need it:

    This also looks awesome:

I've also been wanting to try a powder eyeliner:

ETA: I've been trying to wait until November to go back to Sephora because then I get my birthday gift!  When does the sale end?

ETA2:  Nevermind!  I see it ends on my birthday!

Sousa - I used to wear Bare Minerals foundation (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about), but I actually like the Laura Mercier stuff better.  It provides better coverage and doesn't blotch when you sweat as much as Bare Minerals does.

Also, if you DO choose the wrong color, you can exchange it in the store, even if you've used it.  Is the F&F sale available in the store?  If so, (and if you have a Sephora nearby, which I'm sure you do), you can go into the store and they will sample the colors on you to see exactly what you need.  That's what I did the last time I bought my stuff!

ETA: I just saw that it's only available online, so I would purchase what you THINK would work, and then if it doesn't, exchange it in the store for the right color.  They will still help you figure out what color is best for you.

Thanks!! I think that is what I will do then. I have used only the BareMinerals tinted mineral veil before, and I loved it, so I thought the entire package would work well for me. I will check out the Laura Mercier stuff as well. Thanks SKP :)

    I'm proud of you, Shoes.

I have no idea what I would buy.  Some of that eyeshadow primer you guys always talk about, for sure, and then I don't know.

I'm so lame when it comes to make-up.  I usually wear the same plain jane all-natural look everyday...very minimal make-up, mostly just to even out skin-tone and make me not look asleep.  I did discover primer recently though, and wow I can't believe the differene it makes!

I almost bought the Urban Decay Naked palette, but even with 20% off, by the time I added tax and shipping, it was still $48. While I like it, I decided I didn't need it.

Sometimes I do get frustrated. I feel like I make pretty good money but can't afford more than the clearance rack at Macy's. I also have a very conservative idea of what I can and can't afford.
