More invite advice

We just found out today that all our guests from IA have to yet received the invites we mailed 9 days ago. At this point I feel that 1of 2 things happened. 1) We put our return address on the back of the envelope and the sorting center got confused and will be returning them to us shortly or they are lost. 2) we should have split the mailing into multiple mailings as it overwhelmed the post office. Not sure what to doofus the invites aren't delivered soon, it is all FI family. Do we resend the invites?

    I would say if you have enough invites to resend to go ahead and resend them.  I hope that the post office finds your mail soon.  I sent a mothers day card to my step mom from ny to ca and it arrived in 2 days....

    I would wait a while longer.  I live in Iowa.  I mailed my Save the Dates at my neighborhood post office.  My mother's took 9 days to arrive.  She lives about 20 minutes away.

    Ouch that's a long time for local mail.  We are waiting until the weekend if they haven't arrived or returned to us we will resend as well as send emails.   It's just surprising that it could take that long.  I grew up in a small rural town in NY and all my family received the invitations 3 days after we sent them.   Being patient is not one of my strong points (and I know that).
