We've decided not to have children at our wedding - the cut off age is 12 (which would include all of our first cousins). Some of our cousins have young children - and there are about 20 of these second cousins involved (ages range from 5 months to 8 years old). With our family dynamics, I think they will all be very understanding that we're not having children at the wedding.
My question is this. By the time of our wedding, one of my cousins will have a 5 month old infant. I am anticipating that she will be breastfeeding. I have no objections to inviting this infant, but it seems that in doing so we will also need to invite my FI's cousin's infant (I'm not sure of whether she'll be breastfeeding). This is what raises an issue, as this particular child has two sisters, a 3 y/o and a 5 y/o.
Are we then obligated to invite the other siblings, and does this open us up to having to invite all 20 of our second cousins? Is there any way to just allow those that are breastfeeding? Our reason for not inviting children isn't that we don't want them at the wedding - it's just that we could invite ten friends who we otherwise couldn't afford to invite if we excluded 20 children (our venue has a reduced rate for kids).
