Ceremony Invitation wording

Please help... is this wording proper? FI and I are hosting along with a few family members who are contributing. We are having a full mass.

Together with their families
the honour of your presence is requested
at the Nuptial Mass uniting
KNL
to
CMS
in the Sacrament of Matrimony

This is followed by date, time and place.

    I think that sounds fine. We did "The honor of your presence is requested at the marriage uniting Bride and Groom."

    I think "together with their families" sounds really odd with "The honour of your presence..." - it's not grammatically correct.

    Either cut the "Together with their families" part, or word it something like:

    Together with their families
    You
    and
    FI
    Request the honour of your presence...

    I believe that when you are hosting, the invitation should be written in third person as you have it ("The honour of your presence is requested"), but if you insist on having the "Together with their families" part, this wording above is the only option I can think of which still makes grammatical sense. Maybe others will have more ideas.

    My invite designer made it to where it wasn't in the long format, so it doesn't look quite as wordy.

    I thought it sounded a bit off but wasn't sure. Thank you all for your help! I'll do the Together with their families right before our names as you ladies suggest.

    Also, it was included in all of the previous posts, but not explicitly stated: your names should be linked by AND rather than TO. This will be better both gramatically and theologically.

    There is also some debate here about the term "nuptial mass uniting" because the nuptial mass doesn't actually unite you. Some people think that is nitpicky, others think it is just plain wrong. AKG's wording, or "the nuptial mass at which" (or similar) are other options.

    Everyone caught everything I could think of!  Good work!  Assuming you're going with first person, it could read like this:

    Together with our families
    [bride]
    and
    [groom]
    request the honour of your presence
    at the Nuptial Mass uniting us
    in the Sacrament of Matrimony
    on Saturday, the first of July 
    two thousand [and] eleven 
    at four o'clock in the afternoon

    If third person, it could read like this:

    Together with their families
    [bride]and[groom]request the honour of your presence
    at the Nuptial Mass uniting them
    in the Sacrament of Matrimony
    on Saturday, the first of July 
    two thousand [and] eleven 
    at four o'clock in the afternoon

    FWIW, there's something about akg0063's wording I also like, too.  I appreciate how it specifies the celebration of the Nuptial Mass.

    the mass does not unite you, it is celebrated in your honor.  therefore, it is not correct to invite someone to "the mass uniting them in marriage".

    oh, and FWIW, this was the same working my parents used on their invite nearly 45 years ago.
