Budgets and florists

Hi, all.

I am currently searching for our florist. For some reason, this part stresses me out more than anything else. I think it is probably because I am afraid of the cost and what we will need to spend to get what we want as far as decor/flowers go.

So my question to all of you is what is your flower budget and which florist are you using?

I am hoping to find a great florist for our budget but I am afraid the ones that have photos/websites I like are going to be outside our budget.

Thanks (in advance) so much for your help!!!!

Re: Budgets and florists

  • My floral budget is $1500. I foudn this part the most stressful as well.  Its hard for me to want to spend anymore on something that is going to die. I have quotes from Fringe & Co. and Blancas Creations and they are willing to work with that budget. It takes some searching but you CAN and WILL find the right florist for your budget.

does your budget account for centerpieces? i'm only curious as my budget is way lower cause we don't need centerpieces just bridal party but as OP said everything online is expensive
  • Finding a florist was soooo stressful!!! We're using Creations by Blanca. We are supplying our own vases and rocks and doing a few of our own centerpieces. Everything comes out to just under $700. Flower pricing is crazy and we could not justify spending THOUSANDS! Blanca is awesome though. HTH :)
    These are our flowers...

  • Yes including centerpieces and a ceremonial chuppah that we need for our religion. The chuppah is the biggest part of the budget

  • Creations by blanca. Our budget was $1000 and we were having a difficult time since our wedding is Mothers day Weekend. She gave us everything we wanted and more for under 900. She is wonderful!

  • Just be realistic about budget and what you will get for the cost. i.e. You're not going to get 20 huge centerpieces. However, alot of brides on this site have mentioned a similar budget, so it WILL work! Cutting down on guest list= less centerpieces (which are the most expensive part). Also- I'm doing half tall centerpieces, half short (and saving a bundle!).

Another quick tip- don't put flowers last (aka using whatever money is left in the budget) if they're important to you. :)

I'm using JMorgan Flowers. She's awesome, down to earth and will totally work with you. :) I had a slightly larger budget (~$3000 b/c I had a huge guest list, and flowers were one of my must haves. But I came in just around that with 8 bridesmaids & groomsmen, 14 centerpieces, 2 huge alter pieces, loose floral for cake table, and then VIP flowers (grandparents, dads...etc.)

My budget was $1200 and we went to Petals Designs in Boca Raton. She is AMAZING!!! We interviewed SO MANY people and she was the friendliest and most accomodating. She is so enthusiastic to do traditional or non-traditional (like us). She was also very good at getting my mom to see my ideas as nice and not wrong (long story). She is designing the cenerpieces and chuppah flowers. We are then using the chuppah flowers as the flowers for the cake table. If you talk to her tell her Sara with a wedding on 11/11/12 sent you and she will take good care of you :-)
