Wedding Arch

How many of you are looking to get a wedding arch for your outdoor ceremony? I'm holding my ceremony in an Arborteum and initially thought that adding a wedding arch would take away from the natural beauty of the garden but now I'm having second thoughts.

For those of you who are getting a wedding arch, are you going to decorate it? How are you going to decorate it?

    We are not using an arch, but an arbor that is already in place in the backyard. I thought it would look a little strange to add flowers to it, since the backyard will be full of blooming flowers, so I am decorating the arbor with strips of ribbon in variations of our wedding colors hanging down the back all the way to the ground. I think it will be a nice contrast to the already naturally beautiful yard.

    We had an arch and just decorated with garlands made from roses and greenery.  We also decorated it with white tulle which you cannot really see in the pictures.  The tulle made it appear much softer though and I really liked that.

    Ohh CSC, your arch looked great!!

    I think you could easily do something like that, if you have a Hobby Lobby close to you they rent arches for weddings. Maybe look into something like that? Or Michaels has already lit ones.

    How would you work out the logistics of decorating if you're hiring?

    We're doing an arbor of a sort.  My dad is actually building it.  It consists of 8 4x4's.  4 to stand on and then four across to make the square at the top.  Then it will have White (or white and turquoise) organza fabric draped across the top in both directions to make like a roof and then twisted loosely down each pole.  Below is the pic I gave my dad so he'd know what I am hoping for.  It should actually be really easy from what I can tell (I considered building it myself, but everyone keeps telling me I'm taking on too much for myslf... I also wanted to make the cake myself, lol).  We may add flowers, but not sure about that yet.

    We're going to buy one off a website.  It's made of bamboo.  I'm going to simply hang an ivory scarf (usually used as drapery) over it.  We're getting married on the beach, so I think it'll be perfect.

    Where are some places online that you can purchase a square arch like the picture above. We might not have the time to build the arch, but are looking for examples. I would love to decorate with ivory and our wedding colors in terms of draps. Our wedding ceremony will be on the grass overlooking the ocean.

    ***Side question: How to deal with isle runner while wearing heels!??!??!
