Where do I get my dress cleaned?

I live on the north side, but any recommendations are welcome. Also I have no idea what a normal price to pay is, so any idea on the range is helpful :) Thanks!

Re: Where do I get my dress cleaned?

  • Ug, I've been trying to find a reputable place that doesn't send your dress away to another state since my wedding (over a year ago).  Davis Imperial Cleaners in Evanston does the cleaning and preserving onsite, but it's $$$.  I think it was around $500-600?
  • I know this isn't anywhere close to you, but Five Corners Cleaner in Glen Ellyn does it.  I don't know the exact amount, but the lady who does my alternations sends all of her clients there and they get a discount.  I believe with her discount, I can get it cleaned and pressed for $85.
  • The only other "certified" preservationist besides Davis (which is super expensive like PP said) is Lansing Cleaners. It's a hike to get to, but I think it's worth it. They also have 20% off coupons you can use towards it on their website (lansingcleaners.com). I am supposed to pick up my dress next week so I can report back then, but I've heard from others that they are the best. The regular price for cleaning and preservation is $295, I paid $235 with the coupon.

Davis is really expensive but they do a really really good job. Esp if you dont want your dress shipped off somewhere. They even deliver.
