Cost of Wedding/Reception in French Quarter

Hi all!

I'm just starting to research having both a wedding and reception in the French Quarter (preferably a courtyard). I've gotten numbers back on a couple of places, but wanted to know what you guys think is an acceptable cost?

From the quotes so far, it seems like we'll be tied down to a bunch of fluff items that we don't even want. Anyone have a suggestion for a courtyard venue with a little more flexibility?!?

THANKS!

I am having both my ceremony and reception at Rosy's Jazz Hall. It is not in the french quarter, but very close. The venue alone is costing me around 10,500. This includes food and alcohol. Because the place is so beautiful as is, I am not having to hire a decorator and am only using flowers for bouquets and sign in table. They have a courtyard as well as a beautiful atrium. HTH. From what I researched, you will not get by with any less than this amount. Out of curiosity, where are you looking and what have you found?

We're having our ceremony and reception at the Omni Royal Orleans in the Royal Garden Terrace.  We looked at a lot of venue options in the Quarter and I even had a spreadsheet comparing them all. The Omni worked best for us.  My main issue with various venues was the minimum since we're planning for about 100 guests. A few places I loved, but we just couldn't commit to the minimum with our number of guests. I also definitely wanted a rain backup space and some venues didn't have that option.

Where have you considered?  How many guests are you expecting? What fluff items are you not interested in? An acceptable cost really is subjective, but depends a lot on how many guests you're expecting.

    TruWalk,
how much is the wedding costing you? I am curious, because I am starting to plan my wedding in FQ and Omni is one of the venues I'm considering. My wedding is a litle smaller 50-60 guests though
