Does this sound OK for a casual wedding menu?

We are having a very small (40 people) wedding.  It is going to be casual and laid back and held in a Community Center in the town where we live.

I am considering having Larosa's catering.  I am planning on buying their family meals.  I was planning on getting pans (each pan feeds 10 people) of Meat Lasagne, Chicken Fetticini Alfredo, Cheese Ravioli and Baked Ziti.  It will also include salad and breadsticks.

Is this enough food?  Or do I need some type of appetizers?  Our wedding ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 and we have planned on eating dinner at 6.

Any thoughts, suggestions would be appreciated.

Appetizers are always nice to have, but not required. What you have listed here sounds good for a casual wedding.

That sounds good to me. Appetizers are always nce, but I think you should have enough food for everyone.

It sounds good. That should be plenty of food.

I love larosas so that sounds great to me! Like pp appetizers are always nice but not a necessity.  Just dont take too long to feed hungry guests!

I have NEVER heard of Larosas catering a wedding, I LOVE IT! I just told my mom about this. Catering has been stressing me out because of the costs, but they're reallly reasonable! It's about $7 for Chicken Alfredo, Pasta, and Breadsticks! Thanks for this post!

While I love the idea of LaRosas catering, I just wanted to ask about logistics.  Are you getting married there as well?  Are you taking photos after the wedding?  If there is a gap while your guests are waiting, it might be nice to have a fruit or veggie tray.  Just something to snack on while they wait for you.  If you're getting married and getting in line to eat, sounds great.  Good luck!

    Thanks for the feedback ladies!

Yes, Mrs. D we are getting married and having the reception in the same place in the same room.  So the plan is to say our vows and let everybody eat!

stefwhitney - I am glad I was able to help you out!  We had such a hard time finding someone to cater such a small event.  And, who doesn't like LaRosa's...right?!
I think it works out perfectly, you can fax the order in a day or 2 ahead and they will deliver it right to the venue...and the price can't be beat.

    Good luck with your wedding!

We just went to a wedding over the summer that had Larosas cater the dinner portion and then skyline at 11pm for a "sober up snack" of conies. I have to say there is nothing more Cincinnati than LaRosas and Skyline! It was delish!

Duhh I forgot to answe the question! I think if you are going right from ceremony to dinner, it is fine to have no appetizers. If you are doing any photos after the ceremony, then I would do a light appetizer, maybe fruit cups, cheese/veg platter and a beverage like tea or punch for that time.
