Mini alcohol bottles as favors at the Merion

We were going to use personalized mini bottles of our favorite whiskey as favors, but my mom remarked that the venue may not allow you to bring in your own liquor, even as favors. I've seen a lot of people give champagne or wine bottles as favors, but never these. I was wondering if anyone knows the regulations at the Merion or if your own venues allow this or not. I don't want to ask them directly, because if they say no, I'm in trouble. I was considering just bringing them and hoping for the best. Help!

    That sounds a little sneaky.  I would just ask the venue.  If they dont like the idea of outside alcohol, maybe you could compromise by wrapping them in a favor bag (tied up) so people are deterred from opening them at the reception.

    I think it would be fine.

     I'd find it hard to believe that a venue like that has never come across something similar. So I'd assume if it applied to favors they'd make that clear. Most venues don't allow outside food but don't tell you that you can't hand out candy or cookies as favors.

    And I'd only think it was sneaky if you had heard they didn't allow alcohol as favors and brought them anyway. Most brides wouldn't even think to ask if their favors were allowed.

    I'd hope with an open bar (assuming you're having one but since you're giving out whiskey as favors it's probably a safe bet) that your guests wouldn't be opening their favors to drink but some kind of bag or ribbon to designate them as favors probably wouldn't hurt to cover yourself.
    I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

    Thanks for the input! I didn't even think anything of it at all until my mother pointed out to me that it might be an issue. I think a little bag around them would probably be a good idea. Thanks!
