Excellence Cancun or Excellence Playa Mujeres?

We cant decide where to go.. we love the beach and that is important to us and just want a nice relaxing place. Has anybody gone?

    We are trying to decide between playa mujeres and secrets maroma. I would say EPM was winning, but they don't have the nicest beach (but have lots of pools) and now FI is torn.

    We haven't gone yet but we booked Playa Mujeres.  It's a little ways out of the Hotel Zone down there which was appealing to us.

    Went to EPM this past September and are getting married there next month! LOVED it and it is VERY much worth going! Secluded and beautiful.  YES it's true, the beach is not the best. :( They do keep it clean, but if you are looking for that AMAZING almost fake color blue that you see in the hotel zone in Cancun-or the Corona commercials, this isn't it. It's still pretty, aqua and tropical, but a little deeper so the color is not the same. I also heard seaweed issues for certain time of the year on Riviera Maya, and saw it once while taking an excursion to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen...water color is excellent there though...
