Last weekend I went to a friend's wedding and found 3 of my vendors!
I was really impressed with the DJ, Zach Dauphinais. He played a great mix of music, didn't hog the mic at all, and was very nice. Price is great. FI and I booked him a few days later (we didn't think it was appropriate to talk to him too much while he was working).
While at the wedding, Zach intorduced me to Jen Strunk. I guess the two of them are really good friends? Anyway, she wasn't working the wedding, she was just a guest, so we had plenty of time to chat after dinner. Jen actually did my save the dates but I'd never met her before so it was nice to meet her in person. I'd been thinking about hiring a DOC anyway because from what I've heard, the Branford House doesn't have any of their own staff to help with set up or break down which is just crazy to me. I haven't signed the contract yet but we really liked Jen, her price is great, and so we will most likely be using her.
And finally, we may have found our photobooth! Zach Shiffman from Studio Z was there, and he was awesome. Very nice and funny. We loved that there were so many fun props and we got printouts of the photos immediately. He has our date available so we're meeting with him next week for more details and pricing, but assuming everything works out, we're totally hiring him.
I hope my buddy doesn't mind that I'm basically copying his vendors lol, but I'm so happy to have some pretty solid checks out of the way!
