Antigua vs. Bahamas

While we have a bit of time before our honeymoon (July 2013) we are starting to think about where we'd like to visit! We receievd some information in the mail yesterday on Antigua and the Bahamas and just wondered if anyone had preferences, traveled to either, etc? Thanks!

    I've been to grand Bahama and I loved it. Very inexpensive, easy to get around, amazing beaches, and good snorkeling. I can't comment on Antigua.

    Antigua sounds really amazing.  I was thisclose to choosing it for our honeymoon, but ultimately we decided on Cabo instead.  But they have some beautiful resorts and great beaches.  Hermitage Bay is a great looking AI that I was considering.

    I have never been to the Bahamas but would love to visit someday.  I'm told ts beautiful.

    H and I vacationed in Antigua a few years ago; we stayed at Galley Bay, an all adult, all-inclusive resort.  http://galleybayresort.com/ It gave us such lovely, beautiful scenery -- and perfectly peaceful.

    The island is beautiful without crowding nor is it, in any way, overbuilt.  We took a heliopter tour above the island.  The underwater "scenery" is amazing!  One issue we had was the rocky surface encountered when walking in and out of the water.  We love swimming, so had to deal with that more than we would have liked.  Other than that annoyance, it was a great vacation.

    We went two years ago to the Sandals Royal B.  It was PERFECT, so much to do and you are treated like royalty. In fact, it was so great-now that we are engaged we planned our wedding at the Sandals Antigua in June of 2013.  (Six months away :) )  I am just hoping that the water is as perfect as it was in the Bahamas.  We stayed on the resort as well as did many excursions.  I would highly recommend it!

    Two years ago my fiance and I went to the Sandals in the Bahamas.  It was PERFECT.  The water was beautiful, service was great.  I have stayed at a lot of other inclusive resorts that were cheaper and -you get what you pay for.  It was well worth the money.  We stayed on the resort as well as ventured out to excursions.  We are having our Sandals wedding in June of 2013 at the resort in Antigua.  I hope it is just as wonderful.
