Outdoor wedding venues in or near SA?

Just engaged, looking to have an outdoor hill country wedding in Oct 2010 for 200-250 people.  Any good ideas on venues?  Ideally we want to have the wedding outside and reception inside (with a rainy day plan).  Any recommendations good or bad are greatly appreciated!

I just got married at Canyon Springs Golf Club in north SA (Stone Oak area) and couldn't have been happier with the location and service. I'm still working on my vendor reviews, but I would definitely recommend that you look into that location. I have a few pictures in my planning bio (in siggy) under 'Venue' and some in my wedding bio under 'non-pro pics'. 200-250 is kind of big to have everything inside there, but if the weather is good they can have some things set up inside/outside (like dinner inside and the dance floor outside). Please let me know if you have any questions at all about that venue.

The other place we had considered was Marquardt Ranch up in Boerne. It was a really beautiful place too. We ended up not going with them because of the long drive to get there and because they were a little more expensive. You should go check them out though.

Congrats on your engagement and good luck planning!

Try the Antique Rose Emporium off of Evans road. My BIL is getting married there this July.
I think it's $1200 for 12hours on a Saturday. It comes with chairs/tables for 150. Outdoor ceremony site, then an indoor reception site. The indoor space may not hold more than 150 I believe, but you can also set up chairs outside.

Weather is kinda fickle in October. Hope this all helps.

The River Star Events center in Kerrville is really nice, and very cheap too!  You might want to Google it and see what you think.  In my opinion the pictures on the website don't really do it justice.  We're getting married there in the Summer :)
