venue in north Dallas

Looking to book a reception venue in any north Dallas suburb for about 100 people under 4000. planning on setting a date for the summer 2014. somewhere that is not all inclusive i would like to take my own non catered food, alcohol and centerpieces. romantic and open late. please help we work in Kentucky and won't be in Dallas until June :/

    When you say noncatered, I assume you mean you (or someone you know) will be preparing the food?  I think this is problematic with some places for liability reasons, so you might run into that.

    That said, check out Event 1013 in Plano or Filter Building/Winfrey Point on White Rock Lake.

    What does "non-catered food" mean?  Are you talking about bringing in homemade food or party trays?  Because there aren't a ton of venues that allow that.  In fact, the only one I know of for sure is Winfrey Point at White Rock lake.  Do you need a ceremony venue?  Because using Winfrey Point would mean you would get married outside by the lake, which is lovely, but not in Texas in the summer.

    Keep in mind also that most BYOB places will require that you use a TABC certified bartender.

    I did attend a wedding at Chestnut Square in McKinney, Texas where they brought in Sonny Bryan's BBQ for the reception and they were allowed to serve alcohol without a bartender--my DH's BFF (the brother of the bride) just acted as the bartender.  They got married in the chapel and it was really nice.

    The Addison Event Center will allow you to bring in your own alcohol, and there is a fee for them to provide a TABC certified bartender. The room rental fee varies depending on the day of the week and the time of the event. I'm not sure of the rules about bringing in food and whether it has to be catered from a company or not. It would definitely be worth looking into.

    Where in KY do you live? I went to HS in Lexington, and my parents still live there. Sadly, J and I only make it back once a year to visit.

    Yes i meant homemade food, important just so picky and have yet to find a catered menu within my pricepoint that actually sounds appealing. the filter building closes at 11.. way to early for us and chestnut square doesn't allow hard liquor, im running into alot of that actually were tequila and whiskey people the addition event center charges an extra 100/keg and 50/bottle.. just seems ridiculous. we live in carrollton, ky right off the Ohio river... we're thinkin of doing our engagement pictures in Lexington... Can you recommend any locations??

    You might check out Noahs in Irving, but I am not sure of their alcohol policy and events must wrap up at midnight. To be honest, I am not sure of many venues that allow you to stay later than that as midnight is pretty standard. 

    Although it is way south of Dallas, you might check out the Red Oak Municipal Building.

    The filter building mandates that the music be off by midnight, and then you have until 1 to clean and be out. At least that was the rule when I got married in 2012.
    Most places, unless completely rural, have a rule that music must be off by midnight due to noise restrictions.
