Bridal Shower Favors?

I'm doing a recipe themed Bridal Shower and mailed out recipe cards with the invitations for people to bring to me at the shower.

I'm trying to think of a favor that would go along with the theme, but I want something simple and not very expensive.

I thought of cookie cutters with a recipe from me and the groom and then also a cookie in a bag.  But it seems like a lot of work.  A friend offered to do hershey bars and customize a wrapper on them.

What are you guys doing for favors and what are some ideas?
Thanks!

I've never received a favor at a shower. Are you hosting your own shower?

My family and friends are hosting.  But I had the idea of the recipe card theme and am helping with some things.  I want to be involved.
I always thought you had favors for the guests at showers.  I've never been to one where you didn't get one.

I once went to a recipe/kitchen themed shower and the favor was adorable, easy, and inexpensive.

Take any type of small candy (M & M's, tiny jelly beans), and place onto the "bowl" of a wooden spoon.  Wrap the bowl of the spoon up in tulle, cellophane, or other transparent material.  Tie with a ribbon and/or bow!  It was simple, and well received.  And....edible and usable!!

FWIW---I have yet to attend a shower where there was not some small token of thanks/favor for attending.  Perhaps it's regional?  I disagree that it is wholly an "industry conspiracy"....wedding-itis was not anything like this 30 + years ago when I married, and I had favors at my shower back then!  For us, it is a small token of appreciation to our guests for taking the time to help celebrate the occasion.

I'm also hosting a recipe themed bridal shower for someone. I love the wooden spoon idea. Might use it.

You don't have to do favors at all; however, in your shoes I would make a batch of my favorite cookies, package them individually, attach the recipe on some cute paper and call it good.

    But seriously, no favors needed!
