Bridesmaids gifts?

What are you getting your bridesmaids?  How much money should we be spending?  I thought nice makeup would be a good idea.. So before christmas I started buying them a Tarte eye shadow gift.  The gifts were $70 each... I stopped buying them because I ran out of money....But I have to buy like 4 more and then don't sell them anymore... I think I should give all the girls the same gift. Do you? except the MOH.  I need ideas.. what is everyone else doing?

Re: Bridesmaids gifts?

  • I bought my girls jewelry to wear on the day and I'm doing an emergency kit in little clutches that say bridesmaid or maid of honor
  • Thats a great idea!
  • I got all 3 of them matching clutches with their initials embroidered on them. Inside I put personalized (name & wedding date) compacts, small perfume, and their jewelry for the wedding day. The clutches came with an emergency kit. I am also getting them fast flats so they can change out of their heals at the reception. I didn't spend more than $40 each. I am also getting my MOH and MatronOH somehting extra, but not sure what yet.

  • I got the girls black Coach clutches on black Friday when they were giving out coupons at the outlet (our colors are black and pink). I may get them tissues, lip gloss, and mints to put in the clutches. I am also getting them jewelry.

  • Mine are getting a really nice bracelet to wear for the ceremony. I'm also paying for their shoes.  We're on a budget so that's all we can afford at this point.

  • Where are you girls getting these clutch bags?  How much are they? I looked them up online and they were starting at $65....  Also are you buying clutches that match their bridesmaids dresses.  My girls dresses are purple... they are not going to want a purple clutch... Also where are you getting their jewelry?  Sorry I have so many question... I dont' really have anyone to talk to about this stuff.  The fiance is no help.  :)  I also don't have alot of time to shop.  Work full time.  2 little kids. School....
  • try claire's for the jewlery and clutches. it doesn't have to be expensive. I'm sure that most of your maids aren't expecting you to go out and drop $75 a piece on them. Just get something that's cute and within your budget. Check out other places for the clutches, too, like kohl's or jcpennys. you can find cute ones for less than $20.

<div>I'm thinking about doing wristlet purses or something similar, but it wouldnt be for the wedding.  Just for use in everyday lives.  I'd rather not give them something to use only once for the wedding.</div>

  • Mine are getting necklaces, a small jewelry box, there name spelled out in those pictures of things that look like letters with the meaning of their name under it that will be framed, and maybe a small gift card to one of their favorite places.

  • We're just doing gifts for bridesmaids and groomsmen
  • I am probably going to do a necklace.
I am also doing the emergency kit...I found this on pinterest...

My friend sells Thirty one gifts and they had an outlet sale so I got them some little bags to put all the stuff in. I also made them flip flops.
  • I got my girls a tote bag to put on their bed at the hotel a welcome gift.  I plan to fill it with emergancy items like that hollywod tape (they usually have it on sale at tj maxx), some regional items like candy and or wine made locally, and a time line of events.  My wedding is in my FI town that he grew up in so I thought a welcome gift would be nice.  These were purchased on the knots wedding website on sale!
I also got them small jewelry boxes engraved with their names, also from the knot store on sale as well!
My mom found them a glass pendant at a local flee market and we are going to use rsilver ribbon and closure clasps to make the cord so it keeps the price down.
I also got them little clutches from steinmart (13.00 each!!!) that are silver (our colors are silver and lavender).
Its easy to go overboard on these things because there are so many ideas but its helpful to make a budget and stick to it!
