hair - practice run full cost?

I just called a salon to  book my hair appt for my June wedding, and ended up holding off on booking because I realized that they charge the full amount for the practice run as they do for the big day.  I guess I assumed that since they overpriced the "bridal" appointment, the practice would be included...  am I way off on that?  What's your experience been with the cost of the practice run versus your wedding day?

    I think my practice run was $50...something like that.

    I just had my practice run last week. Mine was included in the wedding day package, but we did have to pay half of that amount at the trial run. So, the total for my hair will be $50, we paid $25 last week and will pay the other $25 the day of th wedding. It was the same for my makeup trail run!

    Mine was $35 for practice and $35 the day off   and i had a lot of comments on all things my hair (lol) when showing people pictures

    I think my trial was around 30/40 or so. I went with Jennifer King who comes on site.

    Does it take any less of her time and skills to do your trial?  No.  In fact it probably takes more time so yes, she should be paid full price.

    I know my trial cost less than the day-of hair in part because she does her trials at her studio in Marysville, but she travels to you the day of the wedding.

    Also, some of the other hair stylists I spoke with include the trial in their package so I can understand the confusion.

    I am having mine done with MIchelle at Salon Lofts in Hilliard. It is an updo and took her about 45 min to do!

    I had Anita at Shag do my hair as well as my mom's and bridesmaids.  She is my normal stylist.  She didn't charge me for the trial, but I gave her a $20 and said just take it as a tip.  Day of she charged me $45 and bridesmaids were $35-$40.  She came to my hotel and did everyone's hair.  She was so awesome.. so we made sure to give her a very generous tip that day.

    I'm going through Charles Penzone and I know that my practice run is the same price as my day-of hair..kinda sucks, but I really want their services for my hair/make up for the wedding.
