October 2013 Weddings

Some things are just so ironic...

Last night I was telling FI that when I finally get my state refund (it took over a month, not normal), that we should go to our jewelers and pick out his wedding band. This morning, I realized a diamond fell out of my e-ring. Made the decision to go get it fixed tonight. After lunch I went onto my bank account and noticed my state refund was deposited!

I guess we are killing two birds with one stone now tonight!

  • Nice! Bummer about the diamond falling out though. Its great that you have such a good warranty on it!

We looked at wedding bands a little online of the weekend. FI decided he wants the $3 stainless steel plain band. That's all he's hearing of it too - so I guess that's what we're getting!

  • Ahhhhhhh! *frantically searches my e-ring* phew. all the diamonds are still there, lol.

Glad you're going to get that fixed tonight, though. :)
  • I should have my ring back within a week, and boy do I feel naked without it. Its been 1.5 years since we've been engaged and I've only had it off randomly to get it sized. They are also checking all of the prongs to make sure it doesn't happen again.

FI found rings he likes, but they want us to wait until it gets warmer here to make sure on size. So we will be going back in probably May to make sure he gets the right size.

<div>I would feel so weird having to go that long without wearing my ring! You might already do this but if not you should definitely take your ring back every 6 months for inspections and cleaning(most jewelry stores do it for free) that way if one of the prongs are loose they will catch it and fix it before the diamond falls out. My Mom used to work at a Jewelry store and she told me to occasionally put my ring up to my ear and tap on it and if anything is loose you can hear it. I know that sounds weird but she swears it works!</div>

To keep the life time guarantee valid I have to. I actually just had it there Jan 29 for my 6 month "checkup".
