Anyone know how to change your name after the wedding the certificate already says your maiden name?

I wasn't sure if I wanted to change my name until now (after the wedding certficate is made with my maiden name). Does anyone know how I would go about changing it? Thanks!!

    I might be totally wrong but I think that you have to go through quite  a bit more hassle to change it now.  You'd need to file forms for a legal change of name, pay some extra $$, publish your intent to change your name in the paper, etc.  It is do-able, just more involved.

    If you aren't married yet, call your county to find out but I think you may have to reapply and pay for a new license... it's a hassle, but as witty said, do-able!

    Yes it will be more complicated now after the marriage has already gone through. You will have to file a request to change your name in court and get it approved by a judge, I believe.
