Downtown Lounge for post-rehearsal nightcap

Hi Ladies - I don't live in KC, but am getting married there on Sept. 3rd.  Most of my guests are from out of town.  The wedding is downtown (Club 1000 - 10th & Broadway) and most of my guests are staying down there as well .  I am looking for a laid-back lounge-y atmosphere that is a bit upscale, but where we can talk and get a drink or two after the rehearsal dinner.  Any suggestions?  Thank you so much in advance!

Dana

You'll have to drive there but The Drop is only about 10 minutes south of where you will be...swanky and hip...http://www.thedropbar.com/

I used to love JP's Wine Bar which was a few blocks away from you but I just went online and learned that it closed.  Eek.  Now there is a place called Tannin.  I obviously haven't been there but if the look and feel is like JPs, it would be close to what you are looking for. http://www.tanninwinebar.com/

Just an FYI,  the First Friday in Kansas City, Sept 2, is when the art galleries open all over the Crossroads District (only a few blocks South from where you are).  It could be fun just to go there and romp around with all the other Kansas Citians.  But if you don't want to do that, be aware that many places may be packed full of people so make reservations if you can.
Wedding bliss since January 14, 2012!

Congrats Dana!!!!  P & L is just down the road and there are alot of really places down there and it should still be nice weather so being outside in their "living room" could be really awesome!!!
