Vistaprint Envelope Weight

I've seen a lot of posts about how thin the Vistaprint envelopes are.  Some posts suggested an upgrade to better envelopes, but after much googling as well as searching on the VP site, I couldn't figure out how to do that.  So once again I turned to an online chat with VP customer service.

Me: Are the "matching envelopes" a heavier weight than the "plain white envelopes" that come free with my order?
VP: The Matching Envelopes are actually the same weight as the Plain White Envelopes, the only difference is that one can be customized to add texts or a design and the other cannot.
Me: Is there a heavier weight envelope that I can order on the site?
VP: I am sorry, but all the Envelopes we offer are made from 70lb acid free stock.

There you have it, a conclusive answer.

    When people say 'upgrade the envelopes,' they mean to buy better quality ones from another site. The envelopes from VP are the generic stock envelopes. If you want heavier stock or different colors & textures, you need to order them from another site. I used LCI Paper and was very satisfied.

    They were very flimsy, I bought blank cards that came with nice envelopes at Hobby Lobby the saver pack was 50 cards for maybe $24.99 and I had a 40% off coupon, so a couple trips later I had cards to mount my magnets in and better envelopes!  They do plain white, black and craft paper versions.  Definitely a good alternative.
