photography punch in the gut!

I'm pretty sure my heart just broke. I am in love with Alicia Cohen's work!! I wanted her as my photog and nobody else. I contacted her 2 weeks ago and finally heard back from her today... my date is already taken.

Now I have to go through the stressfull search of a new photog that can compare to her in my eyes that is in my budget! I could cry.. I really could... ughhhh

    Sorry :(  I'm really surprised she's booked this far out, but I guess word is spreading.

    There was Photography by Lia or Lisa or something that I liked and contacted before Alicia, but they were already booked.

    ETA:  It's Photography by Leah and her website is www.photographybyleah.com I think.

    Thanks. Yeah I was pretty bummed. She called me to tell me she was going to check the date and send me an e-mail. I went from extremely excited to lying on the floor kicking and screaming lol... well not that far but you know.

    I will definately check into Leah's work. Thanks for the suggestion!

    I did see Leah's website but I saw more pics on her FB page just now that I like more than on her website! I just contacted her so hopefully I here back sooner than 2 weeks! lol. I also just set up a meeting with Barnyard photography. We shall see...... wish me luck ladies! and thanks for the advice!

    Leah just finished school in May, so she's been really focusing on building her business.  Her FB page is relatively new, but she's adding work to it frequently.  It's nice to see the updates.

    I highly recommend blacksilverimaging. They do a lot of very similar work to alicia's work... I'm pretty sure that's who we're going with. Their packages are priced well too!

    Alicia's work is great - I checked her out too after suggestions from this board... but actually decided to go with Barnyard. I've been in contact with Ben there and he replies very promptly, their packages are awesome & affordable and I LOVE their style. (Not a formal shot list besides the formal family pics... just candids and "photo journalistic" style). No matter who you go with you'll find what and who you're looking for and it'll be great!

    huttonj - that's good to know about Ben. He is the one I spoke with on the phone. He said they have about 6 people working there, is Ben your photographer too?

    i just checked out black silve imaging. Their packages are AMAZING!!  I can't even believe it!! I wasn't planning on having a videographer but with them I could afford it!! Definately will be calling to set up a meeting! Thanks!

    I met with Ben at Barynyard Photography. He was great! His pricing is out of this world amazing!! I felt very comfortable so that's a good thing. He also shoots Haunted Houses - my favorite thing ever!!! lol

    I have set up a meeting for this Wed w/ BlackSilver Imaging. Their prices are good as well. So we shall see.

    I have still not heard back from Photography by Leah - so I have ruled her out. If you don't have time to respond to an e-mail then you won't have time for me if I need something or have questions. Not my cup of tea.

    I looked at Kate's Lens also but after seeing the prices of Barnyard and BlackSilver, I now do not want to go above their costs.. lol

    Make sure you check out Dazzle Photography. Dan Salvo is doing my wedding and I love him. We had our engagement shoot back in June and I love how our pics came out.Dan has a photojournalist style and is very open to suggestions. He has a website, www.dazzlephotography.com, but there are more pics on his Facebook page (including my e-pics "Jenn & Chris Engagement Photos" ). His pricing is on his website, and it is very budget-friendly, there is only one package price. He doesn't charge you for time or for extra photgraphers, whatever is needed for your wedding is what he provides. Definitely check him out.
