Invitation Address

Hi all,

I'm having trouble trying to decide how to address my invitations.  I am having a few older relatives come to the wedding.  They will need drivers as they don't drive themselves, but I'm not sure how to address the additional guest....?  Would it be Aunty and Uncle X and guest?  Would I need to find out the driver's name and address it directly to that person?  Would I need to mail a separate invitation to the driver?  Any ideas?

Do you think perhaps that your older relatives could ride with a younger relative?  Then your problem is solved.  If they don't have anyone else who can give them a ride, I think it would be appropriate to call and speak to them and see how they want to handle it.  If they need to bring a driver then I think it's okay to write Aunt X, Uncle X, and Guest.

I'm with AKWB.  Another option is just to arrange group transportation like a small bus or van, or even a cab if it's just a few of them, therefore eliminating the need for strangers at the wedding.  I personally would rather pay a cab than invite total strangers to hang around, and it's probably about negligble after meal / rental costs.

I ditto Tanq unless of course the escort is also required for flying purposes and to bring them from place to place while on island?  If not, then i would rent a limo/cab/shuttle to transport them on the day of. HTH! Thx. J. :-)

Hmm... Well, the thing is that the older relatives actually live in HI, so it wouldn't really make sense for them to rent a limo.  Also, they'd be coming with some other relatives of mine who wouldn't mine driving them.  I guess the main point is that I could only invite the absolutely necessary relatives (i.e. my grandparents and their siblings), but the drivers would be like my parents' cousins.  It's like inviting one tier of relatives, but not the next... does this make any sense?  Anyways, I'll just say "and guest" so they can choose who they want as their driver.  If it needs any more clarification, I can send my parents after them.
