ceremony music

it's late as all Heck and i'm sitting here youtubing songs. I think this song is so beautiful for some prelude music OR for the recessional right after he kisses the bride

Isley Brothers
"For the Love of You"

Tell me this song doesn't just make you swoon and get giddy! My fiancee and I are quite the old school lovers of music and we want songs that wont be dated but will express how we feel about one another perfectly and evoke the feeling of love, joy, happiness and sexiness all at once. I guess we're trying to create a mood, a certain ambiance that we want to float in the air. It's been 8yrs and this night we're planning is more than just that!

I also am absolutely in LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE with "SHE" by Eric Robertson. Perfect for prelude music. If you've never heard it

Yay!  I LOVE both songs!  I am a huge Eric Roberson fan, but usually no one knows who he is!

Me and FI are the same way - we love timeless old school and neo soul.  Our first dance song is "You Were Meant For Me" by Donny Hathaway.  It's PERFECT.

We are entering the reception to Shalamar's "Make This a Night to Remember".  :)

There will be plenty of Dwele, Eric Roberson, Conya Doss, Anthony David, Goapele, Res, Algebra, etc. etc. played at our rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour!

Cincy I am running to youtube all of those artists. I LOVE Dwele and Goapele.

I just want our guests to get that "feeling" that I personally get when listening to all of these songs. Don't get me wrong, while I love some of the newer artists I just feel like in 25yrs some of thos songs will be forgotten and if we happen to be at someone else's wedding and I hear "for the love of you" or "Angel" by Anita Baker...it will take us right back to the day we said "i do" and evoke this wonderful feeling.

And not for nothing, I want our guests to be connected to this entire day, as if there wasn't 200+ people in the room and it were only 75. You know what I mean? Granted I am only 29 but still, I grew up around classic soul music so it's super important to me.

    Side Bar:

Who else besides me is playing "before I let go" by Franky Beverly feat. Maze????

I feel you A&M!  We just added "Before I Let Go" to our playlist for the reception.  When we saw FB & Maze in concert last summer, the biggest electric slide I've ever seen started during this song.  :)

Yes! Gotta have "Before I Let Go" played at the reception.  I don't think my fiance' is a fan of this song, but it's a MUST on my list!!

Im thinking of  playing strictly 80's and mid 90's R&B music. The love songs that is.  I am definitely squeezing Deele "Two Occasions" that is the ultimate love song! LOVE IT. And I think Ever lasting Love by Tony Terry is a MUST!
