First day of Spring & Updates?

Morning ladies & happy first day of Spring!

If you have a Rita's near you don't forget to get your free water/Italian ice!

I asked my 3 cousins to be BMs this weekend when I was in Delaware & they were all really excited which makes me happy :)  I ordered these cards from Etsy for them (the inside says: "______, will you be my bridesmaid? Love, Rachel):

Aren't they cute?  I got one for my MOH & other BM too even though I already asked them.

I feel like the board's been super dead lately. What's everyone up to?  Any updates?

I have just been super busy with school and work and don't have the energy to keep up with the boards right now. I check in every once in awhile, but yeah, it's been super dead.

I am just trying to make it through the end of the semester and decide about grad school. I am not enjoying this hot weather so early in the year. I don't like being hot. I like when it's warm, but not hot.

Oh, and we got the disc from our photogs with the rest of our e-pics. There are over 1200 pictures. I don't know what we are going to do with all of them!

  • Well, the deadline for my top choice program is April 15th, and the thing that's holding me back is money. I'm still waiting on financial information from another, more affordable, program. They said they'll send out financial award notice letters early April, which doesn't give me much time before I have to decide on the other one. I still haven't even heard from the school in Colorado I applied to, but I think that's off the table anyways. I don't think we can afford a relocation AND grad school without him having a job down there ahead of time. Life choices are hard!

  • Those are definitely cute cards!

No exciting updates from me :( BF and I are still trying to find a place to live. 41 days to be out of current apartment. We looked at a place last week that we liked, but it's quite a bit further from where we'd prefer to live. We have another appointment on Saturday with a different place. I'm just worried that we'll lose out on the first place if we wait too long. Tough decisions. blah.

  • Coco & Stina - Thanks!

Swhite - YES! I was watching the game & said to Sean, "Oh look a fight already! No two fights. Oh wait THREE fights!"  We weren't THAT surprised though, another time this season when we played each other the game started with 2 fights.  I didn't know where to look!  I freakin hate the Rangers.

  • Updates?  I went home yesterday and passed out at like 7pm.  It was good to get caught up on my sleep.

While I was asleep, FMIL called and left a voicemail, saying, "I don't blame you for not wanting to talk to me.  I know I was a bitch.  I was just calling to apologize.  I didn't hear FI saying that XYZ had a room on the property, and it just kinda rubbed me the wrong way.  And I hope you'll forgive me."

So...I'm glad I got a sincere apology from her.  I'm still hurt, and am kind of scared that our relationship will change now that the wedding is drawing nearer.  I've always loved my FMIL, but now I'm scared that I've misjudged her all these years.

Basically, I need a hug.  And chocolate.

Those are cute cards, RDR.  I'm glad they're all excited to be in your wedding.  Picking a BP was so stressful to me.

Buggle, I hope your appointment goes well today!

Shoes, I'm glad you got that apology from your FMIL.  I hope the drama eases up on you now.

I don't have much in the way of updates.  I've been busy putting together my invitations for the last few days and while I've enjoyed the crafty part of it, I'm still not going to be sad to finish them.  Also, my bridal shower is this weekend and I still have to find gifts for my hostesses.  I'm hoping I can knock that out today.  Anyone have ideas?  It needs to be kind of cheap, because I have six hostesses.
  • Great cards RDR.  They look great.  Not much going on my end.  My wedding shoes arrived but we're the wrong color so I had to send them back and find another pair.  I went from blue colored shoes to orange shoes.  Which I kind of like better.  Been taking it easy, though I am thinking of ordering canvas totes soon for the welcome bags.  Other than that I can't wait for the days to get warmer!
  • Shoes: I'm glad FMIL called & apologized!  Sending big :::hugs::: your way.

Buggle: Good luck today! I hope the appointment goes as smoothly as possible.

Elle: I would really like to do our invitations myself but I'm terrified of screwing them up & don't know if the stress of it is worth it for me. I'm not crafty in the least.

    Lyn: Pics?!

  • I love those Rdr!!  I wish I had been creative.

Shoes- Hugs.  Go buy some chocolate.  Yaga is right you do need to let this go now that she has apologized. Everything will work out great!

Buggle- It's going to be great!!! Everything will be fine :)

My updates are as follows.  FI stayed up till 2am last night looking for centerpiece ideas because I told him how stressed out I was about everyone not liking my ideas and shooting them down and how I have no one to bounce ideas off of.  He is amazing.  He found some great stuff that I really like and I think I will use.  In his email he told me about 10 times that my ideas don't suck.  Sigh I love this man so much.  Other then that not much.  My invitations are coming at the end of the week and I am so excited!  I went shopping yesterday and found some cute stuff so I am happy.  But I am pissed (TMI) because I have been bleeding for 4 days now.  I am on BC I shouldn't be bleeding! And it is giving me terrible cramps :(  And I am really stressed about the wedding.  Can it be here already?

  • RDR: Love the cards
Buggle: I hope the dentist appt goes well!
    Shoes: Hugs hugs hugs

Update: Bean's therapeutic boot/sling thingy is really making a difference with his ankles! I'm sooooo happy about that. I don't know if I T&P'd this, but Bean has a big problem with his Achilles and hamstrings being abnormally tight. We've been working on it for 3 years now through physical therapy and the doc got our insurance to approve the therapeutic boot from this company Dynasplint (finally!-they wouldn't approve it before). Anyhow...the boot seems to be really helping!

My dad called me about my upcoming bday (in 3 weeks) and since they're going to be in Paris celebrating my bday (g'dammit), my step mom wants to take me shopping next Saturday. For what? I don't know. My dad just said shopping-I'm guessing clothes/shoes. What I really want/need is a Kindle Fire (or something similar) or camera equipment, but I feel rude saying so if not asked. I'm good with clothes and shoes-but I don't really need them. Suggestions? Do I just graciously accept the gift? I guessing that is probably the right thing to do etiquette wise.

Yaga and RDR, the original shoes were David's bridal satin bow peep toe in cornflower.  I wanted Malibu since it was closer to turquoise but they ran out of my size.  So I ordered conrflower since it looked close as well.  Turns out in person that it is not the case.  So I had to return them.  I want on zappos and found these.  Though they are simple the bright orange makes up for it.  If I really feel its too plain when I get tjem I may add shoe clips.  But I think the picture where you see our shoes, my bright orange ones and the shot where Danish Man is wearing his Danish Flag socks will be great and amusing.

Finding turquoise shoes that were in budget and with a heel that won't kill me is nearly impossible.  Orange is the same way.  These shoes I bought above were just listed on zappos.  Bad news, I have to go back to the seamstress and try on my dress again since these heels are a little lower than the original ones.
  • Beautiful cards! So sweet! Update here: I might be prego. I go in next Wednesday for a blood work up since typical over the counter Pee sticks don't work for me. I had the same issue when I found out I was prego with my son 11 years ago. So that's my update!
Lyn - OMG I LOVE THOSE SHOES!!!!  I think I want a burnt orange or dark red pair, but really I have to keep my options open because it's a PITA finding fun shoes in my size. Ray - I'm experiencing the same - cramps and bleeding in the middle of my pack of pills, which started yesterday.  I'm calling my doctor if it's the same tomorrow because I've never experienced this on the pill before.  (I'm on Seasonale, and I've taken the lower dose version for 1.5 years in the past without this problem.)  This sucks. Oh my update is that I gave up on the oil cleansing method.  I liked how my skin felt (soft, not oily, not dry) but it also was breaking out too much.  I think I am past the point of "purging" by now, so I decided to give it up before my skin got worse.  I ordered some samples from Desert's website.  I also washed my makeup brushes this morning and they were so full of makeup.  It was somewhat gross how much was in there.  I forgot if you're supposed to rinse them with conditioner or not.  Anyone know?

Ya I don't know what is going on.  I keep bleeding heavier each day too :(  I am on the 4 seasons stuff and a very low dosage. :(  I was going to go a week but maybe I should call now?  Sorry your skin thing didn't work out :(

Did someone say BABY????How do you feel about this? Posted by desertsun
I'm not getting too excited about it yet. I haven't brought it up with the bf yet as it hasn't been confirmed. Last time I thought I was, I made an appt only to cancel it a few days before because AF came.

Don't get me wrong, I'm staying calm collected on the outside but I'm bursting with joy on the inside. It's been 11 years since I was pregnant with my son and I miss having the baby belly. The weight gain I could do with out but I miss my baby belly shelf.

ETA: When I got home I cringed at the smell of beer on my bf's breath...I actually gagged a little.  Typically, it doesn't bother me.  My bf asked if I was ok, and when I told him I could be pregnant he said, "I guessed it....your cycle didn't come and you haven't been super moody...but you've been sleeping alot."   So, now, I'm a little more excited that I very well *could* be pregnant.  I'm really tempted to see if pee sticks will actually work for me now since there has been so many advances in the technology......
