How do I do this?

We are at the point to look at invites and I want to create a monogram. So my "real name" is Isabelle, but everyone I know aside from my parents and my grandmother call me Elle. In fact I don't think many people even kno that's just a shortened version of my name. I'm really not a fan of Isabelle... I feel like every1 is named that now and with the whole Twilight thing I just like Elle better. I know stupid... but that's how I feel. I'm a nursery school teacher and I swear every girl has my name now! SO what that said, on our invites and monogram which name do I put? My parents said they would be "hurt" if I didn't put my "real name" on the invites, so if I compromise and put it there when I do my monogram can I put Elle??? Help!

I was and still am in the same position ..... I decided on this...
I went with my given name
(I was named after my mom) my nickname is Lee but my given name is Eileen
on my return address labels I'm going with Lee but everything else will have my full name....First & middle name. I don't use it often just for legal purproses and since I'm only getting married once I wanted to do right by my mom and do it right. Some peeps know me by Lee some know me by Eileen. No doubt I will thoroughly confuse my fiance's family but whatever theyll figure it out.

    Hope this helps.

I was in a similar situation and want sure what to do.  Was kind of like an identiy crisis, lol.  I decided to put my legal name on anything associated with the ceremony(STD, invitations, programs), since it's my "formal" name.  Since the reception is less formal, I put my more common name on everything (menu cards, DJ announcement, etc).

Good luck and let me know what you decide to do ;)

What about you use Isabelle and Justin for all the formal / official  stuff - invitations. monogram, names in your program, etc.

But put Elle and Jess (your fiance probably goes by Justin, but I was trying to make a point) put that on the cover of your programs, favor tags, notes to hotel guests, napkins, etc. All the non-formal kind of stuff.

What is your officiant calling you during your ceremony? My sister goes by Beth to family, Liz to friends, but on her wedding day it was Elizabeth on everything.

    GL! HTH!

I am so glad you did notice this =) I've told Terri in the past, but what she answers is very valuable because she's been in the wedding industry and knows what she's talking about. Ladies, take what she says. I've had the pleasure of meeting Terri and she is wonderful =)
