What's Your Favorite Shower Gift?

Most of us have had one shower, so wondering what everyone's fav shower gift has been? If you haven't had your shower yet, what are you hoping for most?

My favorite gift was from my FSIL who made me a basket of wine and each was labeled with a different occassion we could drink it on such as "First Christmas", "First dinner party", "First Fight", "First Baby", "First Anniversary" etc. Each had a little poem on it about the occassion, it was so sweet and who doesn't like wine/champagne :-)

Re: What's Your Favorite Shower Gift?

  • My favorite shower gift so far is a Keurig Machine.  We didn't register for it, and I'm pretty sure the FI doesn't want to keep it - but I do!!

I'm also super excited about getting the dishes we picked out.  I've been using my mom's old Nortiake stoneware dishes for almost 10 years (and they're probably from the 70's).  I'm excited about retiring them for our new Noritake Colorwave Rim dishes!
  • What a fantastic idea!! I love that... it makes me want to give that as a wedding gift haha.

My favorite are just my dishes and cake platter and silverware... the kitchen things I will either be using every day or will be displaying :)

  • From my SIL. She got it from etsy. One of those hangers for the wedding dress that has "Mrs. FILastName" made from the wiring. It's gorgeous! Im so stinkin excited to use it!
  • Our stainless steel pots and pans and our knife set
  • handmade afgan (sp?) & kitchenaid mixer
  • my grandmother gave me her "kitchen witch"

She spent weeks looking for one that was ugly enough and eventually gave up and gave me hers.

  • My friends from school got together and got me a huge framed sign of my last name...but each letter was a picture taken from tree branches.  It looks so cool, and it was so thoughtful.  We are waiting for the wedding (until it is officially my name too!) to hang it over the couch.  It look slike a piece of art, but our name is in it!
    Anniversary
  • I have 3 favorite gifts. My kitchen aid mixer, gift card for the honeymoon from BM's and a box of homemade decorations including ornaments and a wedding album and one of those mr and mrs hislastname plaques!!

  • The bridal shower itsself was a wonderful gift from my dearest friend. <3

Otherwise - I'm excited to use the kitchenaid mixer from my grandma.

  • Wow not sure I can pick!

I also got that awesome wine gift from FI cousin.  She made this tote to go with it (Click)  I also got a pair of Tory Burch earings which I LOVE, an amazing beach bag with Mrs New last name on it from my Bridesmaids and my mom wrote me the best letter :)
  • The shower itself was my favorite gift! I know, I know, I'm kind of cheating with that answer, but I was just so thrilled with how it came out. My mom and BMs planned it together and they really worked so hard to make it unique and fun. I was blown away by the effort they all put into it.

BUT..... if you really want me to chose a physical gift, I would have to say my slate cheese board and wine glasses set my Aunt sent me. I cannot wait to have a wine and cheese party now!

  • It's a toss up for me...

    1) My cousin, and BM, is really artsy and creative.  Christmas is our absolute favorite holiday and we're both really into it.  She made me a beautiful glass ball ornament and filled it with curled pieces of our invitation.  It's so beautiful and I can't wait to put it on our first Christmas tree this year in our new home.

    2) My BP also put together a beautiful scrapbook that they gave me at the end of the shower.  It's probably one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received.

  • I loved my shower too! It was so nice to see everyone and catch up with people.

My favorite gift is probably a gift card that we got to a nice restaurant! I ran into one of my Mom's friends there when FI and I we were celebrating our 4 year anniversary and she must have remembered- so sweet of her!

I'm actually excited for everything other than dealing with duplicates- I want to have a dinner party now that we have unchipped dishes, and a party since we actually have matching wine glasses, and I'm going to cheat and make smoothies in my new blender this weekend.  Oh and I want to make nice baked goods with my new Williams Sonoma supplies! I just love kitchen/house supplies so I've been in such a good mood about all these gifts since my shower on Sunday ( :

  • I have to pick one? I can't pick one!!

Well.... Probably the tower fan?? No that's weird. I'd have to say the wooden serving trays/bowls. I LOVE how they look with our house!!

  • hmmmmmmmm this is tough!!

From our registry, probably our massive kitchenaid food processor (fiance and I are foodies and I know we are going to use it all the time) and the fondue set that we got. Oh and FMIL got us a guacamole cookbook and molcajete/mortar and pestel thing since fiance has an addition to guacamole, that was probably his favorite, haha.

Off of our registry, my cousins/shower hostesses got us fair trade gifts from India from a local gift shop that are absolutely beautiful - an intricately carved wooden serving tray, silver napkin rings, a gorgeous silver vase. It was probably the most thoughtful gift that I know we will use and display for years to come.
  • I got an esspresso maker that I've been pining for since forever! I've been on a mission to save money by making my latte's myself instead of going to coffee shops every day.
