Limo Timeline

So the last thing that vendor I need to book is the limo. I originally was not going to even go with one to save money until FI pointed out that someone would have to drive us anyway.

What was/is your timeline for the transportation for your day? Are you getting picked up before or after the ceremony?

I will also take any recommendations for reasonably priced companies!
TIA!

My situation was a bit different, I suppose, but here's what I did: The groomsmen and DH met at the reception hall (so that they could leave their cars there). They were picked up by the limo at about 2 I believe (ceremony was at 3), and taken to the church. I just rode in my parents' van to the church, b/c I got ready there instead of at home. The limo waited there during the whole ceremony, then took us to the park afterwards for pics, then to the reception. I know it's kind of wasting time to have the limo sit there during the whole ceremony, but it was the best way I could think of utilizing my 4 hour package. Some companies allow you to break up the hours, but mine didn't (something I didn't think about until it was too late, so I just worked with it).

I used Vogue Limousines in Jeannette. I recommend them, though I'm sure you could find cheaper. And as I mentioned, they don't let you split the time though.

I believe it went something like this:

Pick up my dad at hotel #1
Pick up me, mom and BM at hotel #2
    Drop off at chapel
Pick up DH & GM at hotel #1
    Drop off at chapel
Hang out while we did some pictures
Drive bridal party to the Pete for pictures
Drive bridal party to hotel #1 for drop off/pick up of stuff
    Drive bridal party to reception

Our situation was a little screwy since everyone was staying at hotels, basically in the end we had the limo for 5 hours for I think $600 + 20% driver tip. We used Mariah Limousine. My only complaint was that the driver did not know how to get from hotel #1 to hotel #2 and that made us late, which made the guys late. Everyone made it in plenty of time but I was starting to get freaked out. I don't understand how limos don't have GPS or the driver at least could have mapquested it beforehand. My Dad was the only one in the limo and is not from Pittsburgh so he couldn't help, 2 of my BM had to get on the phone and direct the driver.

I think the price included champagne, we brought our own beer and bottle of vodka. I negotiated down the price from what they wanted. We had a 16 passenger limo? I forget exactly but there were 13 of us and it fit just right.

I used a shuttle bus which is the most economical, but not the prettiest option around.

Anyway, they were like $375 for the whole day, as I split the time, and they were great. Info in bio if you wanted to go that route.

I don't have a timeline yet, so this post is really helpful!

I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a limo at all. Everything is within a five mile radius for us. We ended up booking a limo bus through Classic Limo. We're spending $620 total for four hours.

Our basic timeframe for the limo is:

2:15 PM pick up bride, bridesmaids, my mom, and FMIL to go to church from the Duquesne Club
2:45 PM pick up groomsmen, groom, and dads to go to the church from other blocked hotel
    4 PM ceremony
5:15ish PM- after a couple of church pictures, limo takes wedding party only to a few nearby picture locations, drops us off at reception venue, then leaves for the night.  We're keeping it to a two-hour rental

We also, however, have arranged shuttle transportation to and from our blocked hotels to the ceremony location, and the back to the reception location afterward, so we didn't have to worry about any other family members with the limo.

We booked both our limo and shuttle through Elite Coach Transportation:

This is SUPER helpful! I think I might go the shuttle bus route because we will have quite a few out of towners and I would like to provide transportation for them to and from the reception. I can't believe the prices all of you guys were able to get to, way cheaper than the few places I've looked so far!

    Thank you all so much!
