Southern Oaks Wedding

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering about a rough estimate of what it would cost to have a reception at Southern Oaks Plantation. thanks!

The estimate they gave me for a daytime wedding (there were no evenings available in the month I wanted) was $6,600 for 100 people. I think their prices are anywhere from $6,500 - $10,000 though. You should contact them directly for a better estimate. Happy planning! :-)

For the Friday night I wanted in April (remember fridays are cheaper usually) ceremony was 1000 and the reception was 8400 for 100 ppl or less. If you wanted fireworks or a horse drawn carriage, jazz band, premium liquor, or extra carving stations, etc it would cost more.

I talked to them yesterday, they confirmed these prices. All listed prices are for 100 guests and include a new orleans style meal (butler passed) of over 80 items, 1 hour for the ceremony and 3 hours for the reception. All taxes and gratuity are included as well.

    saturday afternoon: 7,050
    saturday evening: 9,700
    friday evening: 8,150
    thursday evening: 6,400

an extra half hour is $700 and an extra hour is $1,250. I'd have to hunt for the rest of my notes, as I've decided to go a different route. HTH

I'm sorry, I think brideinNOLA was right, it is an additional $1000 for the ceremony

i thought saturday evenings had a minimum of 250 people even if you didn't have 250 people you still had to pay for that and it was closer 15k once you added the ceremony and everything in.

i got their booklet sent to me earlier this year and went there too.

    Kate,

they didn't mention that, and I was requesting a saturday for 75-100 people. Could be season dependent? sorry to butt in again.

i don't know. they never mentioned anything about seasons. We wanted only 150 people and our wedding was going to be there in January.

huh, that's interesting. I'm tempted to call them back now and find out for sure. They're one of our backups if we the venue we've chosen doesn't work out.

We booked Southern Oaks for our wedding and reception.  We are so excited because we know several couples who have had there receptions there and were just elated at how wonderfully everything went!!  People are still talking about how great the service was and how wonderful the food is!  We are booked for 200 guests on a Saturday night so as for the minimum being 250 guests, I know that is not the case.  The prices do vary depending on if you choose a Friday, Saturday day or night, or Sunday.  However, they do tailor to your wants and needs.  You have many options to add if you would like, such as the horse and carriage, jazz band, fireworks, and even different carving stations!  Everytime I call, my questions are answered and when I email (which is often) I get a response back very quickly.  So I agree with BrideinNOLA, you should give them a call directly or email them to get a better price on what you are looking for with your wedding and reception.  I hope this helped.  Good Luck!

They are most definitely season dependent.  they flat out told me that since I wanted March that my price was higher because March is a peak month.  I have their booklet in front of me right now and for 150 guests its anywhere from 8,100-12,650.  the actual price will depend on the day and time you choose as well as the time of year.  the saturday night quote i got for 200 people was 14,100 and that is the top of the range for 200 people so march is definitely a peak month.  by going with a friday night it went down to 11,900.  so you will probably save a couple of thousand.

    extras include:
    ceremony 1,000
    jazz band 625
fireworks 2,000 and up depending on what you want
    horse drawn carriage 450

also add 8 dollars a person for premium liquor.

this is the booklet they gave me about a month ago.  HTH

EDIT: when i talked to them they said they used to have a minimum of 250 on a saturday night but have since stopped requiring it.

When I booked my venue 1.5 years ago, they required a minimum 250 on a Saturday. We are having our reception only in January and it was $15,000.
I recommend them, I've been to several weddings there and they are a like a well oiled machine. Everything runs smoothly, and the customer service is unmatched!

    Best wishes!!
