OK girls... I'm a bride myself and planning a SMALL (12-15 people) kitchen shower for a friend of mine. She has had a rough time and when I found out that no one (including people in her family) was throwing her a shower, I decided to. She is a sweet sweet girl who has experienced some really tough times in her life.
Anyway, I am throwing her a kitchen shower. Just in case you aren't familiar with this.. it's a shower where every guest is mailed a recipe card (with the invitation). The guest then writes her favorite recipe on the card including ingredients and directions. The guest then buys all the utensils that the bride will need to make that recipe. (Ie, for cookies one might bring a cookie sheet, a mixer, a pot holder.) That is her gift to the bride. Along with the gift, she brings the filled out recipe card and the hostess inserts the card into a recipe book that is made for these types of showers. The recipe book with all the filled out cards is then given to the bride as a gift!
The bride's colors are black, white, and red. Does anyone have any ideas for a few cheap, but good snacks that I can serve. Literally $20-$30 on food is all I want to spend.
