DoC.??

So my venue contract says that we only get an hour before our rental time to set up anything that the venue itself doesn't provide. For me that's the centerpieces, and putting the menus and programs down. I'm worried about that getting done in an hour. The hour before the wedding starts I'm gonna be getting my dress on and stuff. No way I can set up. My BMs are gonna be dressed, don't want them setting up in their dresses and make up sweating out their hair. I dnt want to rely on anyone else, because there's a huge chance it won't be done the way I want, or people will back out last minute. The venue said they can set up my centerpieces as long as they're not elaborate, which I don't think they are. But somebody will need to oversee them in case they have questions. I'm really leaning towards a DoC so I don't have to stress over this. Is it worth it.?? Are yu ladies getting one.??

Re: DoC.??

  • My venue comes with a day of coordinator and we have the place to ourselves all day to do whatever, so I'm not hiring anyone.  It sounds like you should get one though!

  • My venue coordinator includes the setup of my items in the contract. But she also told me that since I will be getting ready on-site in another room, she can always pop in and ask me a question if she's not sure, and I can check it out at anytime to make sure it looks the way I envisioned.

Are you getting ready on-site? Is there a way you can photograph the setup the way you want it and enlist the help of a guest to prep the tables?

I don't know much about a DoC, but if it were me, I would want to know if I can elist their services a la carte or if its a package deal. Are there any duties that will overlap with what the venue coordinator is responsible for? Maybe ask your venue coordinator if there is a DoC they work with for these types of situations?

  • I am getting ready onsite, so that is an option for them to pop in, but I just wanna focus on getting ready to get married, know what I mean.?? I've found a few planners that have a la carte services, but i dnt know how much is too much to pay. I will definitely ask the venue if they recommend anybody. Thanks.!

  • I found a great DOC, she's helping coordinate all the vendors and doing my timeline; she also does set-up and take-down.  I researched a lot before I hired anyone, go through yelp, read reviews, go on your local board and see who they suggest.  When you go in for the initial interview just talk to her and see if she understands what you want your wedding to be like usually you can tell if someone is on the same page or not :)

My fsil offered to be mine. I dot know that she'll have much to do though, we get the reception space from 10am to midnight and my florist is doing my centerpiece setup. Shell just have to put up our card box, table numbers and escort cards. The reception venue is taking care of everything else
